Wake me up when the invasion starts chickenhawks.
But the only substantive thing that has changed on the ground is that UKR has become more militarised- it is being armed by both the US & UK, at minimum.

Germany Rejects Calls to Send Weapons to Ukraine - News From Antiwar.com
Pretty obvious what is happening here really. While I'm pretty certain Germany isn't that stupid, time will tell. Pretty crude blackmail and bullying from your so called ally.
The US would take no military action in support of Ukraine.
Why not? Because, again, Ukraine is not a member of NATO.
Clearly, by its inaction, America is revealing its refusal to risk its own security in a war with Russia over a Ukraine whose sovereignty and territorial integrity are not vital US interests sufficient to justify war with the largest country on earth with its huge arsenal of nuclear weapons.
This is the real world.
And as Ukraine is not a NATO ally, and we are not going to invite it to become a NATO ally, Biden should declare so publicly, urbi et orbi, to remove Putin’s pretext for any invasion.
Biden has already declared that we will not put offensive weapons in Ukraine. If, by declaring that we have no intention of expanding NATO further east by admitting Ukraine or Georgia, we can provide Putin with an off-ramp from this crisis that he created, why not do it?
Speaking last week, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said, "They must understand that the key to everything is the guarantee that NATO will not expand eastward."
If what Lavrov said is true – that the "key" for Moscow, the crucial demand, is that the eastward expansion of NATO halt, and Ukraine and Georgia never join the U.S.-led alliance created to contain Moscow – we ought to accede to the demand.

NATO didn't expand into Georgia, yet Russia invaded. The wolf is real Sabang.
LBC weighs in
I don't think it is unreasonable of Russia to seek some re-assurance that Ukraine will never be allowed into NATO. Since the fall of the Soviet Union NATO has been imo far too aggressive in Eastern Europe. The west could have shown far more magnanimity when the Soviet Empire began to fall in Eastern Europe, instead they decided to see it as some kind of 'victory'. The decades long shit had to/ has to stop sometime and somewhere. A painful a pill as it's going to be to swallow I think NATO should acknowlege that Crimea will remain in the Russian camp. I would still like to see a free and fair referendum in the two western regions to determine what the will of the people is, stay with the Ukraine or rejoin Russia.
All of the major western powers involved have already declared they will not, under any circumstance, send troops to the Ukraine.
It's promising that the two sides will meet again next week. I vote we turn the page. I vote for peace.
A true diplomat is a person who can tell you to go to hell in such a manner that you will be asking for directions.

I used your own facts you idiot.
There are already Nato troops in Ukraine. Just in an "advisory" role. As they did in Vietnam. And they are training guerrilla units which is against international law but whatever. archive.fo
The presence of U.S. special operators is part of a small American military contingent that remains in Ukraine. There are also more than 100 Florida National Guard troops in Ukraine in an advisory role, Pentagon spokesman John Kirby said Tuesday.
On Friday, The New York Times reported that the White House was considering a plan to fund, train and arm a resistance movement inside Ukraine. For the Green Berets and Navy SEALs assigned to SOCEUR, that could mean a heavy focus on guerrilla warfare instruction, a specialty of such units.

Lets hear it for the War on Terror!

The tragedy is that Putin has diverted the worlds attention and is convincing the western world we need more weapons to protect us from his regime (we dont) whilst another house in the occupied territories belonging to a palestinian family was demolished by the Israelis. A small thing in comparison but more double standards by the west. This should be totally unacceptable in a western democracy. While we need to keep dictators like Putin in check and keep sanctions on them, we need to get our own ship in order. If the west wants to be the example then we have to apply the same standard for all.
Israel needs to be dragged to the negotiating table with the threat of severe sanctions. The west is becoming more like the "respectable" husband, the guardian of family "morality", who secretly visits the whorehouse when everyone is sleeping.
I did wander off topic but I keep having this nagging thought when on these topics. Somebody did once say remove the spec from your own eye first.
"Western values" only work and have true legitimacy when they are applied not only to "others" but equally to all.
Yes, I know, I have indulged in a little whataboutism. Just trying to add a little balance as I see it.
It really is pointless arguing with these idiots. They have their heads firmly planted up their own asses. They will blindly defend Russia and China to the end. They are firmly indoctrinated by the propaganda masters themselves and long ago lost the ability to think for themselves. Furthermore, they are the puppet satellites of ITAR-TASS and the Kremlin.
