I do not follow that?
The bridge links Russia to the Crimea? Cannot see anyway it would ever have been of use to the Ukrainians?
Anyway - the people of Wikki do not f@ck about:
Kerch Strait Bridge or Kerch Bridge, is a pair of now partly destroyed parallel bridges,

Looks like two sections of one carriageway the road bridge, each one of one or two spans are gone.
The rail bridge train fire is out and still stands, so far.
His next video below is allegedly the checking of the truck prior to it's crossing the bridge, open the doors 5 second glance and doors closed, oops.

A quick Q here for we mere mortals.
Why/How are the Ukrainians doing so well against this suppposed military monster? I obviously know that they are being well-armed and Snubby has also posted the ongoing training of their troops in Britain, but surely the Russians have the advantage of numbers and will eventually swamp them?
Or are they just a really shit, underfunded army with troops who aren't invested in the invasion?
(I hate to ask this question and reduce it to this when innocent lives - on both sides- are being lost because of one madman)
There is a longer answer to this, but I will keep it simple. Before the 2014 invasion of the Donbass by the Russians, the Ukrainians still had a Soviet style army, like the Russians still do. After 2014 the US military came into Ukraine and convinced them to adopt a western military doctrine and started to train the Ukrainian army. The long and short of it is that the Russians are top-heavy with generals who call all the shots, while western military doctrine is more flexible and allows for Sergeants to make decisions on the battlefield.
It makes a huge difference when small units have the flexibility to make the calls right on the battlefield and to freely transmit what is happening back to command staff, so they can constantly revise the battle plan. The Russians do not have that capability.
Yes, they are total shit on every level.
I was reading earlier an article written by an American who is a volunteer fighter in Ukraine. He said they have been fighting against poorly armed and even unarmed Russian soldiers from the start. It had become sickening and the Ukrainians were starting to pretend it was a video game to be able to continue slaughtering so manly people. He said that he waits every day for some hard war to start but it never happens.
True. And why would Russia solely rely on a single road and rail bridge crossing the Kerch Strait to Crimea, when they can just drive across a long land border (if you can still call it that) joining Donbass directly to Russia? It is a childish fallacy to suggest most Russian troops and equipment heading into and rotating out of Ukraine do so via one single bridge, and then head through a narrow isthmus linking the Crimean peninsula to Ukraine proper, to get to the conflict zones. Nice one snubby. Why would Ukraine need a bridge from Russia into Crimea when they could just head south from Ukraine ?
Anyway, cooler heads will be thinking- what will be the response, if any? Will Putin escalate, perhaps by hitting key Ukrainian infrastructure? We'll see.
You really are completely clueless. Russia moves its forces by rail. It is complete shit at moving supplies by truck. That was proven during the failed attack on Kyiv, where Russia suffered its first massive defeat. They simply can not do it.
Soon you will find out the truth.
If you actually think that most troops, supplies and equipment that go into "Ukraine" from Russia do so via the Kerch Bridge, you are more than utterly clueless. D'uhh, just look at the map.
This certainly makes for good TV anyway, compared to this:-
^ But frankly, this is far more significant. Anyway, enjoy your jollies.![]()
As far as the south, yes, all of them come over the Kerch bridge. As I mentioned, the Russians move EVERYTHING by rail. There is no rail line that connects Russia to the south other than the Kerch bridge. You really are totally clueless...

The Russians are saying that it is expected to reopen the railway bridge this evening. They acknowledge the road bridge is destroyed in two places but can be repaired. Meanwhile, ferries will be operating to the mainland.
Let's see what the damage is before popping the champagne in victory.
Can't link from my handy, it was a BBC report.
