What percentage of spree killings by gun are committed by people with mental illness though?

Arguably all of them I supose.

There has to be something wrong with your head to decide to go around shooting as many people as you can whatever the underlying motivation.

So it's logical that proponents of gun control would bring up mental illness in this context.

'Tis, but it's also a red-herring that the NRA / NRA backed politicians throw out there to distract from the fact that a lack of gun control(s) is the issue.

It's sleight of hand: 'hey look over here and all these mentally ill people and don't notice how easily they're able to get their hands on guns! Why aren't we focusing on mental health'
