    Lawn Darts, remember those?

Couple of kids were maimed by them and one died and they immediately banned them. Can't buy them anywhere in North America.

In 1921, a girl was born with hopes and dreams. Her name was Rose Mallinger. For 97 yrs. she loved, laughed, nurtured and contributed to the world. She married, raised children, wiped away tears, attended school functions and bandaged boo-boos of her children and grand children. She contributed to the world. On Saturday, October 27, 2018 hate killed her. While giving thanks for her life in a Pittsburgh house of God, hate forever ended the hope, dreams and contributions of a girl born in 1921. She was murdered by every American unwilling to unite against intolerance. Today, she is black, latino, gay, Asian, transgender, Jewish, muslim, poor, elderly, homeless, mentally ill and every other person marginalized and hated for being who they are. She is a victim of hate in America. A madman pulled the trigger... but hate killed her. She doesn’t need a prayer service or candle lit to honor her. She needs change in the hearts of the people and country that took her life. Today, I denounce intolerance in her memory.

    Let we forget...

....after white supremacists marched in Charlottesville, Virginia, wielding flaming torches and shouting, “Jews will not replace us” ahead of deadly violence, Trump said there were some “very fine people on both sides.

Well, what a surprise...another shooting...is it a sudden rush on the run up to Thanksgiving?

Florida yoga studio shooting: Two killed and four injured

Two women have been killed and five others injured after a gunman opened fire in a Florida hot yoga studio.

Scott Paul Beierle killed Nancy Van Vessem, 61, and Maura Binkley, 21, after entering the studio in Tallahassee at 17:37 local time (21:37 GMT) on Friday, police say.
The 40-year-old then apparently turned the gun on himself, Tallahassee Police Chief Michael DeLeo told reporters.

Beierle's motive for "this heinous act" is not known at this time, he added.

Mr DeLeo said his officers responded to reports of the shooting at Tallahassee Hot Yoga within "three, three-and-a-half minutes", by which time Beierle was already dead.
A number of other victims received gunshot wounds, while one person was pistol-whipped.

"There are indications that several people inside fought back and tried to not only save themselves but other people, which is a testament to their courage," Mr DeLeo said.
Two of the victims remain in hospital, while three others have been treated and released.

Tallahassee Mayor Andrew Gillum - who is currently running as the Democratic candidate for Florida governor - said he would be cutting short a campaign event and returning to the city.
"No act of gun violence is acceptable," he said. "I'm in close communication with law enforcement officials and will be returning to Tallahassee tonight."

I don't ever remember someone being killed by being hated.

I do, however, remember them being killed by a bullet. Lots of times.

Perhaps you should read the nonsense someone else wrote before you post it unattributed.

Granny should have been armed. That way she could have shot her 11 year old grandson first.

Yes it does, especially for those that need more than words to get a message across (ie rednecks, trumptards, and TD members). Pity it didn't extend to the 90 seconds required to reload and the cops arriving already locked and loaded.

One of the senior policemen on the scene said:

"I never thought I would see the things around the country that would happen, but I've learned it doesn't matter what community you're in, it doesn't matter how safe your community is, it can happen anywhere."
I think he should have said "it can happen anywhere in America", because that's where it usually happens.

How many more people have to be sacrificed before a stronger gun control will get materialized... (perhaps now after the election is a chance?)

A social media war erupted between doctors and the National Rifle Association Thursday, just as 12 people were shot and killed at a California nightclub and hours before the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention released new figures showing gun deaths on the rise across the country.

Doctors and medical officials have increasingly taken on gun violence as a public health issue. Last month, the American College of Physicians issued new guidelines for doctors to follow in helping protect patients from firearms dangers, and published several reports on gun violence in its flagship publication, the Annals of Internal Medicine.

“We need to ask our patients about firearms, counsel them on safe firearm behaviors, and take further action when an imminent hazard is present,” Dr. Garen Wintemute, of the Violence Prevention Research Program at the University of California Davis Medical Center,
wrote in one editorial in the magazine.

On Wednesday, the NRA took issue with the ACP, which represents more than 150,000 internal medicine specialists. “Someone should tell self-important anti-gun doctors to stay in their lane,” the group tweeted.

Doctors across Twitter piled back on.

“We are not anti-gun; we are anti-bullet holes in our patients,” retorted emergency medicine specialist Dr. Esther Choo of Oregon Health & Science University in a tweet Thursday morning.

Dr. Joseph Sakran, director of emergency general surgery at Johns Hopkins Medicine, tweeted his dismay over the gun advocacy group's “divisive statement.”

“We take care of these patients every day. Where are you when I’m having to tell all those families their loved one has died?," he wrote.

A dozen mass shootings in the U.S. since the Pittsburgh synagogue attack
A gunman opened fire at a Pittsburgh synagogue on Oct. 27, killing 11 people. Since then, at least 79 people have been shot in mass shootings across the country

Make the guns disappear and the inmates in this asylum will find other ways to kill each other.

We as individuals and as a culture simply cannot destroy living beings, be they human, animal or plant, in such large quantities and with such speed without imbibing a daily dose of lies and self deception to kill the pain of our own sickness and insanity. To actually comprehend the death and destruction by our own hand with even a minimal level of empathy or compassion would assure its immediate cessation. I wonder if that’s why our soldier’s bodies come home at midnight and the wholesale killing is either sanitized or completely missing from our TV and other mass media.

I certainly don’t have the stomach for this business and I suspect neither do you. While I understand I cannot covet my neighbor’s wife and daughter, I feel no discomfort if I covet his oil and other natural resources. So as a society we ensure the resulting blood doesn’t splatter us and that death remains at a safe distance when we forward position our home grown madmen to oversee our neighbor’s destruction. Kill baby kill.

And so slowly but surely, helped along with generous portions of self serving propaganda, the dehumanization of those “savage and primitive races” (today aka as terrorists) is complete and our population is infected with blood lust and material infatuation. And the rest, as they say, is bloody history; though you won’t find this version in any acceptably sanitized school text book.

Our culture is plagued with school shootings, serial killers (government sponsored or otherwise) conducting mass murder, state sponsored genocide, fast food obesity and pill popping to kill our emotional and spiritual pain. And of course don’t forget the constant mindless consumption to placate an emotional and spiritual emptiness that can never be soothed by material balms. But we can die trying, can’t we? And we call ourselves sane.
    . . .

Have you ever wondered why there are hundreds of stories of early European and American settlers in North America that willingly lived among and within these “primitive” cultures? Once the non natives (the white man) had been thoroughly assimilated into these cultures, why did so many of them want to stay and even fought against their old countrymen in order to remain within their adopted cultural families? These cultural adoptees talked about being the happiest and most fulfilled they’d ever been and how for the first time in their lives they felt at peace, both with themselves and with those around them.

How could this occur in a culture that supposedly had nothing to offer the modern world? What could these “backward” cultures possibly offer the so-called “civilized” Europeans and Americans that would be more attractive than what they already possessed? Is it possible that our culture has lied to us about these things and potentially much more? Could it be that our culture isn’t healthy for us, is in fact killing us? Might it be we’re being used and abused by our own culture for the benefit of others, that this isn’t a natural state for humanity and that this disturbance we feel is the source of our insanity?
quotes from: Welcome To The Insane Asylum ? Our Collective Psychosis ? Chapter One | Two Ice Floes
