    The EU for or against

Personally I have always been a "Euro Sceptic " and of course I could well be wrong on this ,but I simply do not believe that "one size fits all" I also think that it's like big "old boys club" , here,s of of my favourite Politicians venting his spleen ,your opinions would of course be more than welcome

    This should be a poll.

I am against the EU; bigger government, less transparency, more corruption, an entire layer of Euro MPs skimming off their cut... The myth that you need a Euro government to enable Euro trade is just that, a myth...

The EEC was an excellent idea. The EU not so much.

Nigel Farage? An opportunist who appeals to those who like their words loud and bathed in generalities.
He makes his money by being in the very parliament he so hates and derides daily, yet does little to get the UK out of it.

He is the epitome of a hypocritical leech . . . expenses to the tune of 2million GBP anyone?

I saw it as increase opportunity and adapted to allow the rules to suit me. I would like to think that it will broaden the horizons of future generations rather than feed the fears of those like piwanoi.

Great idea in theory but an absolute shambles in practice. Just been a great exercise for Euro MP's to collectivize, homogenize, and cash in.

I have no fears about the EU ,I just think its a bad idea ,I think if there is ever a referendum in the UK on staying in or coming out I think the British electorate will vote for out as will quite a few other European Countrys ,this article confirms just that Most Europeans, especially the French, unhappy about EU | Reuters

Here's the rub, piwanoi - your usual practice of furnishing 'proof' - an dI really am not having a go at you.
This article does NOT CONFIRM anything. It is merely one of hundreds of articles going one way or another . . . please differentiate between 'supporting an assertion' and 'proving a point'.

Proof will be when it is done and dusted

I looked up, 60 years ago this day you had to pay 11.696652 Deutschmark for 1 Pound Sterling. Jeez, WTF happened, and what stabilized it at least for the last 5 years?

Strip it back to EFTA and put thousands of French freeloaders and removal companies out of work.

Co-operation on cross border policing and environmental and agricultural research.

Anything else and they can whistle for my vote.

    A debate raging here....

The UK Should Leave the European Union | Debatewise Where great minds differ

Piwanoi, why not pick out the "Yes pull out" factors that you agree with. Do they really outweigh the "No stay in" factors?

I had a good chuckle about Scotland wanting independence in a world that is getting "smaller" by the year....

Basic- I'm against the EU because I get more baht for my pound sterling
than I would get for my euro......Simple more bang for your buck if you'll
    pardon the expression.

^ How does that argument work then?

The UK is in the EU and uses pound sterling. Pull out and.....doh?

BTW have you checked European salaries against those in the UK?

    Hmm

Yes, it's a good idea to let the goods flow, but not for any price

If, for example, the swedes find out that a product is causing cancer, and therfore wants it banned in Sweden, they will have to prove that swedes are more likely to get cancer from the mentioned product, than other europeans

    That's free trade

    Market rules

    Borders back, thank you

The UK would be nuts to leave the EU, for all it's faults. It would leave the UK economy perilously vulnerable.

They could apply for statehood to a former colony across the pond. A win/win for the UK and the US.

Make that two- I doubt the Scots would be willing to share statehood with the sassenachs.

Farage is your typical British well spoken hypocrite, go on and on with pretty speeches but couldn't care less of what could happen to GB if he could get a penny or two out of it

but we do agree on one thing, that England should fuck off to where it comes from, that is back to being an isolated miserable island
