What are you replacing it with? You should have no problem unloading a nice CB1300.

Ive had 3 or 4 in Thailand Draco.

3 400s and a 650 Ive owned about 4 or 5 years , but may be selling soon.

Very difficult to find a good one that hasnt been butchered , took me a year to find a good 650 but I guess theres a few out there. Motcy.com is the place to look .

Overall the 650 is one of the best bikes Ive ever owned.

Tyres can be an issue with some models having an 18 inch rear rim. Bridgestone make some good sticky radials at 5000b a pop.

The Engine and frame/swingarm combo is over-engineered and bullitproof , handling is point and shoot.

When they arrive here they are running too rich IME. Rejetting gets better responce and a higher top speed.

Brakes are not up to std for a 180 odd kg bike.
The rear is very sensitive and the front single disk lacks feel and progression.

Honda hawk forum has lots of info on fixing that problem.

Some things to look out for if your in the market.

A few things to look for if your in the market.

    * Rusty fuel tanks.

    * Cracked inlet manifolds/carb to cyl head /carb to airbox.

    * Chain adjustment is off an eccentric hub , Hub (teeth) are often damaged or completely chewed off by peoples unknown using the wrong tool to adjust same.

    * There is a very (too) thin metal strip , acting as a fuse inside the starter motor relay that becomes corroded . It is inaccessible and causes frequent ign / starting problems. Its easily bypassed but causes a real headache to diagnose as it is intermittant at first. 2 of the 3 bikes I owned had this problem and would be one of the reasons the owners sell as not many can nail down the problem without weeks of headbanging.

The 400 is fun but lacks real grunt , the 650 feels like an aircooled 900 ducati in the twisties , great fun and very rewarding bike to ride me thinks.

thanks for taking the time to post useful practical info. Will certain retain for the future. Just bought a bros 400 because couldn't pass on the price offered (not in thailand). Certainly seems way overbuilt quality wise. The frame and quality welding makes it look like it could handle way more power which i believe they can looking at some of the race prepped 650 two brothers racing machines.
Don’t argue with idiots because they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience.

Engine looks a lot better now Fondles, Looked 'plastic' in the first pic.

    Nice bikes, I have had a few (well 2 x 400, 1 x 500).

How are you finding it? I love the colour on the tank btw

Big ride on weekend just gone (Baen Saeng Bike Week), found metal in oil when changing today.

top end kit plus a 500 crank and rod on order.

Other than that its awesome, sooooo much more "street cred" out here on an SR than a Harley. forgetting that its an brilliant bike for sunday arvo cruises, I love it.

Engine will be rebuilt for Burapha Bike Week in February.

I love thumpers... Is that a supertrap pipe? The ones I had were sooooo loud

I miss mine, I think if I see a decent deal on another I'll buy again. I'd be looking for one with a book that needs restoring but I haven't come across anything yet.

I was going to go to Bang Sean but I have been many times before and it was too busy. It is very well organised though.

It is, will be going satin black with a red pinstripe after I finish with the rest of planned mods.

I think tyhatt the Black satin & red pin stripe would look very good.
Also a couple of Yamaha badges on the tank.
