I have been riding a Honda Phantom for 5 years now.I have no truck and I have never been on songtaw, I ride everywhere, everyday. The Phantom has been a very good bike. 32,000 kilometers and it has never let me down.I took a wrong turn one day and rode through flood water so deep, I couldn't believe the Honda kept running.
The Phantom is made in Thailand. So much of what you buy here is absolute junk. There are only 2 things I have been very happy with, The Honda and my Talon lawn mower.
There's a video somewhere of somebody attempting a backflip on a Road King.
Honda RVF400RR and Honda NSR150RR.

So, I'm toying with the idea of a complete rebuild for my Magna.
Can anyone give me a rough idea how much this would/should cost?
Depends what you need to get for it.Originally Posted by dirk diggler

Cam chain tensioner towers are about $70
Form ebay.
This place is fairly reasonable until they add their shipping fees. I sent mine to a friend in the US who then ships them at about a third of the price.
Not just the engine MTD, I'm talking about stripping the whole thing down and making it brand new again.
Cheers for the link.
Very few Thais have heard of powdercoating. It's a must if you want the paint to last. Hopefully you can find a place near you. Same with shot blasting. They're generally still in the Stone Ages when it comes to things like this.
Could do it myself if I had the equipment. But I will have to send it to Chiang mai.
A new job working 6 weeks on 3 weeks off in Sakhalin means I won't miss the bike too much, but my friend who will do the rebuild works 28/28, so it's gonna take about 4 months to do.
We're estimating over 100k for a worthwhile job. There's no labour costs, he's just one of those freaks that loves working and needs a project for when he's on his time off.
It's a lot to spend on a bike I paid 80k for (standard), but fuckit, will be worth it.
It's that or buy a Dyna Street Bob, but I don't have the heart to sell my magna. So I'm looking to end up with both.
Lang may yer lum reek...
Magna is a pretty old bike.
Buy the Dyna & keep the Magna for a little while.
And then decide if you still want to throw money at it.
If you're using the guys in CM, then that's probably not far off. They do do a good job though.Originally Posted by dirk diggler

LOL
Rigger just came past me on his TL like a bat out of hell at about 180 kmh hotly followed by what looked liked a gixxer.
A completely random sighting, I was out with the gf in the car about 50 kms from home and havent seen Rigger for over a year.
His missus was on the back holding on for dear life by the looks of things.![]()
