Nice Quad, I had a friend who had one in frankfurt on the roads, attracted a lot of police attention. suprisingly few bikes on the streets of frankfurt contrary to what one may think.
It's about 5 years old now.
I'm thinking of selling it if I get a good offer and buying a new one.
Currently riding a Kwakka Versys tourer with ABS, Givi bags, Pirellis, 80k bht worth of add-ons including big stand pad, screen, motech crash bars, hand guards and s/s radiator protector. It has taken me all over SE Asia in the past 10 months. Bought brand new from Kawasaki Chiang Mai in September 2011. I'll be selling it before heading to Mexico in October. Anyone interested in buying, send me a PM
I ride a 2007 Triumph Bonneville America, but in the USA and not here in Thailand. I don't think I will ever be brave enough to risk riding here in the LOS.

Its not so bad just treat everyone like a idiot and ride as if they are out to kill you.Originally Posted by stevefarang

Just don't forget the social hierarchy....expensive import cars always have the right of way as well as big trucks. In korea it's a nightmare. If four cars stop at an intersection the drivers are busy looking at eachother to see who is the oldest and they go first.
Have a good day Dirk...

i had a speedmaster for a while..nice little bike, but i prefer me nighty...as for riding in LOS..just follow RIGGERS advice..and ride defensively..
Yep, Speedmasters are a great bike as well. Have you joined any Triumph forums ? There's a great one dedicated to primarily the Speedmasters and Americas. Lots of helpful people, from around the world, there.
I have driven quite a bit in Thailand and am very familiar with the idiots and "forget the rules of the road". But between the crazy drivers, the often poor road surfaces and the heat/humidity, I truly doubt I will ever ride a bike here. It's not a question of having balls, it's what you're comfortable with. And I'm not going to let myself to be pushed to do something just to impress someone else. I ride because I enjoy it.
I cringe when I see people riding around in flip-flops, t-shirt, shorts and no lid. For me, I'll stay a little more comfortable and safe in my cage, over here in the LOS.
I'm more cautious of idiot drivers in the UK. Drivers in LOS are expecting bikes to be coming from all angles. Go on, live a little!

A bike is only ever as good as the bloke in control!
