^ I'll let you know when the first matures in 4 years.![]()
In a dim garden restaurant 50 baht and 20 Baht look the same. As I gave the waiter a 40 baht tip.
^ could've been worse, could've given him 100 baht tip.
God damn. My flight got cancelled because of the evacuations from the forest fires in Yellow Knife and Kelona.
I managed to get another flight tomorrow. But all the hotels are booked up by the stragglers. I found this shitty little place. It looks like trucker prostitutes are working at the front desk
What’s the difference Backspit? Are truckers prostitutes more dirty or more fat? Or do you mean actual truckers who also earn a side bob blowing men?
Weekend trip to UK is off to a bad start. Three and a half hour delay and the boarding pass has no seat number or gate. Next flight has been cancelled and lots of people waiting. We got the e-mail telling us about the delay an hour after check-in. I have the feeling I've taken the day off for nothing.
BA flight this time not Lufthansa. It's the connecting flight for many US travellers so lots of rebookings and pissed off people around.
Usual excuse of weather in the hope people won't be able to get compensation
^ sounds like a right pain in the arse; hope the day gets better.
Still waiting....
...and worse, last night's flight was cancelled so this one is way overbooked. Should have told me at check-in.
Apparently BA have hired finnair for the flight now.
I don't have high hopes of getting on this flight.
Good luck Troy!
Finnair are OK, guaranteed you'll get a blueberry yoghurt.
Heathrow at last! Only 7 hours late. Those on connections have to wait another day so I count myself lucky.
Going to UK gets worse each time.
^ Yes, well he won't have to worry about anything any longer.
Meanwhile, things haven't improved much here. Today's theme is queues, they're everywhere. Went down for early breakfast, huge queue, hotel had a coach party leaving early so had a stroll around for an hour and ate later. Every shop I went into had lines of queues, for the auto tills and the manned ones. Queues wherever I looked. Heavy rain showers meant I joined a couple to do something until the rain stopped.
Then I thought I'd drive out of town, maybe less crowded. Paid car park ticket but when I reached the car, realised I hadn't got my keys . Went back to hotel, queued for lift, got to room and door wouldn't unlock. After second attempt, realised I was trying to unlock it with my credit card, still in my hand from paying car park. Then actual key wouldn't work, queue again for lift, no-one attending reception and had to join another queue. Key card fixed and another wait for the lify. I was starting to worry about having to pay parking again, but luckily it was well within time limit by the time I got back. Got in the car and it was just a choice of which traffic queue to join. Traffic was so heavy I drove back to car park and walked. Just in time to catch the next heavy downpour.
I'm having a fun weekend. Hope dinner tonight makes it worthwhile.
^ I basically assume flying these days will be a disaster. And if it isn't , I got lucky.
Hailstones in August!!
