Fukkin dilapidated motocys with side cars ridden flat out at 20kmh by toothless, brain-dead , hooched up toss bags should be banned from the roads.

Fire-bombed on sight at the very least.

Can't people, pedestrians, wait till they get where they're going to do their texting, or at least stop for a minute, or at least wait till they've crossed the fucking road FFS.
It can't POSSIBLY be that important it can't wait the few seconds it takes to cross the road.
I wonder how many accidents of various sorts are caused by texting.

My cleaner, past and present. Why the fcuk don't they move things rather than mop or sweep around them? Our current cleaner has the iron settings too high when ironing and burns the missus clothes. Does she say anything? Nope, just puts the clothes away as if she didn't know. Same applies to her breaking things. She never tells and always claims it was broken before.
I've told the missus to get rid of her but bad, no such thing as good, cleaners are hard to come by. The locals see it as the lowest of jobs. Probably why they don't put much effort in when doing it?

Yes... bottles and recyclable plastics but not plastic bags and food wrapper ...but the local Thais do love a bonfire ( force of habit I guess) , especially the old witch that lives just over the road from me. I sure she goes out collecting all the old rubbish just so she can have a big burn-up and smoke me out

Why can't execs understand operator training time when ramping? It has always amazed me that some top level execs seem to miss this basic reality of bringing people on to increase output and productivity. I have hired 11 people in the last month. They have been starting as they could join the company after leaving a previous employer. Some have been here less than a week. I was presenting in our monthly exec staff meeting yesterday and 2 of them cannot understand why we have not doubled or tripled output. I laughed and had to once again bring them back to reality(which btw they clearly did not want to hear). Reality is 3 weeks to train, 1 week to cert they can build to the docs, 1 week before assemblies they built will hit WIP and likely another week or more before they are contributing in numbers that show output going up. Its a 5 week CT. They say shit like 'Hey, you have 6 new people here how come the numbers are the same or lower" I crack back " So if I hired you today, would you be contributing parts tomorrow?"

Nothing says Thai then a daily rubbish fire.
    It works.

Certainly don't need any uppity Farang neighbors and their challenged ideals towards environmentalism.

We could probably thank Farang for mass introduction of unnecessary plastics.
    Thanks Farang......for nothing.

Is there anything we have to thank Thais for? As for 'unnecessary' plastics, that's debatable.

Don't get me started! I love my cleaning lady. She is sweet and trustworthy.

    However...

She has the same habit of mopping around things. When she dusts, she moves all the items on the table to the very edge and leaves them. The items end up getting knocked off and broken. Mine doesn't burn things ironing any longer. Now she sets the iron so low it hardly presses out wrinkles. Still, after all these years, I can't get her to stop washing my (bloop bloop) omelet pan with detergent.

And she punches out my window screens cleaning them.

Man, no matter how 'sweet & trustworthy' (are you very sure about that?) if it were me, I'd have to let her go.

    Not worth the frustration.

Just a quick question JPPR, Have you or others worked out what it costs the company to hire, train and retain a new employee? Even better how much its costs to bring them to the point where they actually contribute to a positive cash flow? Probably not...its expensive hiring new unskilled or training new employees.

Next time your sitting in a meeting and the subject comes up, tell them the numbers that should wake them up.

One example would be that a well known Bay Area firm cost estimate for hiring the average engineer was $65,000 to the company before they actually contributed to their positive cash flow. One reason for a really good screening process prior to employment...this was in the 80's. I can imagine that cost has tripled in today's market.

If you are the gesticulating farang pedestrian on Sukhumvit Soi 50.

    1. It is easier to walk than drive so be aware of your surroundings.
2 If you don't make eye contact with the driver, don't walk in front of the
    vehicle
3 The vehicle was stopped you what was your problem? An early afternoon
    beer or three?
Better to think inside the pub, than outside the box?
I apologize if any offence was caused. unless it was intended.

    Tomorrow's moan early.
When the new bit of motorway is completed from the end of the Chonburi by-Pass to Pattaya how will us motorcyclists get to Pattaya?
The road is perfectly acceptable at present for motorbike traffic so why will motorbikes not be allowed when a few walls and fences are built.
