Google to launch Android tablet within six months
Google's chairman Eric Schmidt has told Italian daily Corriere Della Sera the company is set to launch its first official Nexus tablet within the next six months, PC World has reported. "In the next six months we plan to market a tablet of the highest quality," Schmidt was quoted as saying, while also confirming that Google plans to leverage its voice recognition technology to better challenge Apple's Siri. Android tablets have generally struggled to compete with Apple's iPad, with common criticisms including the somewhat jerky performance of Android 3.x Honeycomb, as well as a shortage of slate-scale apps to suit the larger displays.

I will take a video of the apps if you want to,
so 1000 USD if the lightsaber doesn't work on my Viewsonic, is that what you are saying ? ok you have yourself a deal![]()

It's possible the app works to a degree on the spewsonic but certainly not the way it was intended to run.
Anyway this was more about seeing if you were capable of taking a screenshot on android Butters. Clearly not. That's pretty funny.
There was never a bet Butters. I simply offered up 100 for a screenshot. I know how broke you must be, unable to afford anything but the cheapest in new technology. If you want to gamble with me, you need at least a little basement cred first butters.
Take it from a guy who says you need a "tone" of ram to play games.
Why would you need to take a screenshot of your phone/tablet?
In the Galaxy Nexus, you hold down the power and the volume down button.
That being said, I have an iPhone and I've never used this feature. For what?
I guess for gamers like you, taking a screenshot of an app must be the pinnacle of their skillsOriginally Posted by 9999
you are an absolute retard, and you are changing the goals again of the bet, now it's about taking screenshot, not the app
even with a screenshot, it will not tell you how "smooth" the apps is, you stupid idiot gamer, so your total dishonesty in your bet taking has again been exposed.
100 USD for a screenshot ? how more stupid do you need to be 999 ? that's right, go back to your XBOX and have another round of BF3
Fuck me, that entire conversation DOES belong in MKP.

Wow, a Butters meltdown. Getting pretty worked up about this light saber app / screenshot issue.
This viscous irrational bet thing is not distracting anyone from the root of the issue; Butters' cluelessness and inability to take a screenshot on Android of an app he can't even run.
I never offered a wager Butters. Here's how it went down, just to re-cap:
Butters says he's running the light saber app on his viewsonic that struggles to load a simple torch app and is still sold with an old buggy android version that Butters is incapable of upgrading.
I call bullshit and offer a $100 TD donation for a simple screenshot.
Butters thinks this is a bet between me and him - comprehension problems. He then gets flustered and in all his financial insecurity (only someone on the bare bones of their arse would resort to spewsonic as their pad of choice) starts tossing around what are significant sums of money to him, like 1K US.
So I offer to bet him his pension fund for a video with the app matching the galaxy in performance. Video as a screenshot will not show smoothness ...(duh!), unrelated to the $100 TD donation offer of the screenshot which still stands.
Butters pussies out and has a hissy fit. Pretty weak for what I took for a thick skin troll. Must have hit a nerve there somewhere.
There's no doubting Butters' technical genius in his day. Most likely autistic. Kind of like rainman; able to count 8 deck blackjack shoes betting 10 spots but not able to clean his own arse.
Actually nothing like rainman as rainman knows what a bet is, and could distinguish between a proposition of odds and a charity challenge.
Cheers this has been a great little internet tiff. But don't let it rile you up like this Butters.
MKP this already. I'm off to take my meds before heading down the basement to play MW2 (BF3 is soooo last month and, like, way less cool LOLZA like get with the program dudearoo)

Butter's doesn't change. He's an idiot.
It's very easy for me. I use screenshot all the time. When I'm describing something to someone in an email it's a lot easier just to show them what I'm looking at.
There. Do I get any money?
Offer is closed Butters, it's been a while and since you've frantically been trying to figure out how to get the app to run and take a screenshot it's possible you could have figured it out by now.
WTF does my mental health have to do with this?
Android Hacker Makes Mobile Internet Tethering Undetectable by Carriers (Download)

Koushik Dutta, an Android hacker popularly known as Koush, has released a new mobile Internet tethering application that will allow users to take advantage of their smartphone's data connection to get Internet access on desktops and laptops, without additional charges. Almost all carriers charge extra for data downloaded by a shared computer using the service provided by mobile phones.
According to a post on his Google+ page, the new application is a USB (2) tether solution for Mac, Windows and Linux. The application - named "Clock Work Mode-Tether Alpha" - does not require root on the phone or a separate tethering plan. The tether works with any carrier and with any phone and is not detectable by the carriers and hence cannot be blocked.
The tether does require installing a virtual network adapter on the computer for it to work. The current version is Alpha and final version is expected to be released soon. You can download Alpha version from the links below...

Lenovo Announces World’s First Android 4.0 TV
By Bhaskar Prasad
January 9, 2012 5:24 AM GMT
Lenovo has announced plans to release an Android 4-powered smart TV, called the K91, which will come out first in China and then around the world.
It will have a 1080p IPS display, a 1.5 gigahertz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, and a built-in 5 megapixel camera to support face recognition. In addition to the Android 4, the K91 will also run a second interface which Lenovo calls "the Sandwich UI" that can handle video on demand, "Internet apps," and regular TV programming.
The K91 is the first TV to be powered by Qualcomm's 1.5 gigahertz dual-core SnapDragon 8060 CPU. The company says it will have access to "thousands" of apps from the Android Market and the Lenovo Store, but it's unclear how the company will highlight TV-optimized apps.
According to a press release, the TV will be controllable through speech as well as with a compatible tablet or smartphone.
Lenovo plans to offer two models, a 42-inch and a 50-inch 3D LED unit, reports GigaOm. A 5-megapixel camera with face recognition will enable high-quality video chatting over the built-in Wi-Fi and Ethernet connections. Its remote will feature a touchpad and integrated mic.
Less than 7mm? How easy will that be to snap?

2012/01/15
The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry has begun an investigation into the leaking of the personal data of customers from Google Inc.'s Android Market, sources said.
Ah OK, it only affects the Nips.
The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry has begun an investigation into the leaking of the personal data of customers from Google Inc.’s Android Market, sources said.
The names, phone numbers, addresses and e-mail addresses of customers in Japan who bought smartphone apps in the online store were mistakenly sent to app providers.
Google blamed the lapse on a system failure and said it fixed the problem by Jan. 12.
The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry will investigate whether the leak infringed the personal information protection law.
“We will determine what has actually happened in the case and will take the proper action,” Tatsuo Kawabata, the internal affairs and communications minister, said at a Jan. 13 news conference.
The information leak was discovered by an app provider, who found it had been receiving detailed private information about purchasers of apps since Dec. 17.
Google Japan Inc. said it has been providing app providers with the addresses and e-mail addresses of buyers, with house numbers and other detailed information omitted, as part of normal customer data management. Google Japan said the system failure caused full address information to be sent.
The data of people who downloaded free apps from the website was not transferred to the application providers.
The personal data of U.S. Apple Inc.’s iPhone users who buy apps on its App Store website is not sent to application providers. Only the number of items sold is recorded.
Woz concedes Android advantages over iPhone | Apple - CNET News
Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak may have waited in line for the release of new iPhones, but he says there are ways Android has leapt ahead of iPhone.
In an interview with Dan Lyons for the Daily Beast comparing iPhones with Android phones, the Woz laments the limitations of Apple's smartphone.
"My primary phone is the iPhone," the Woz said. "I love the beauty of it. But I wish it did all the things my Android does, I really do."
he probably can say this now because Jesus is dead and he can't let his wrath go after him,
Apple Co-Founder Wozniak Prefers Android To iPhone
Wozniak's love for Android is a little strange as you don't expect people engrained in Apple's culture to be Android fans.

Tuesday, January 17, 2012: Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak likes Android smartphones better that his company's iPhone. Despite the fact that Google's Android is the biggest competitor of Apple, Wozniak admits that the open source platform is better in many ways.
According to a Daily Beast report, Wozniak says that Android scores better than iPhone in certain situations like voice commands and GPS. He adds, “I have a lower success rate with Siri than I do with the voice built into the Android, and that bothers me. I’ll be saying, over and over again in my car, 'Call the Lark Creek Steak House,' and I can’t get it done. Then I pick up my Android, say the same thing, and it's done. Plus I get navigation. Android is way ahead on that.”
again, we should be comparing OS here
iOS vs Android is a sad POS, great for teenage girls to navigate between their apps but when it comes to real pro shit, Android is the toy
maybe they should start offering Android for the iPhone ? would make a lot of sense and that would mean a second life for those 3G and 3GS that have poor support from apple
I might indulge actually, it's possible, maybe an opportunity for me to root my iPhone
that should remind me of my teenage years
