It's the butterfly effect.
If a butterfly flaps it's wings in a tech thread... Would it effect anything, or would anyone care?
Depends on whether you have your wifi switched on I guess.
In any case, the answer would be 'No'.
Do you use SGS every day Harry? Skyfire is crap so is Opera. Dolphin was the next best I used it on a ROM with 2.2 but went back to the stock.Originally Posted by harrybarracuda
Maybe for cheap devices these browsers are better but IMO the Samsung stock browser is the best and that's pretty much the consensus of SGS users / developers.

What is the Samsung stock browser?
Is it the Android default or a special Samsung only propriety thing?
I don't base my opinion on "pretty much the consensus" of anyone.
I find Opera the most accessible for quick browsing of mobile sites, and Skyfire the best for more complex sites.
I hardly every use the Android browser.
And I've tried Miren, Dolphin/HD, Boat, Maxthon and NetFront.
(Oh and I don't use any add ons/plugins).

^ OK Harry so you have limited experience with crappy devices. I base my opinion on my own experience and it happens that the Galaxy S world generally agree with me.
It's a browser Samsung put on the Galaxy S.Originally Posted by Plan B
I have an SGSII and a Tab, and I tried a selection of browsers on both - both are running 2.3.3.
I also have a Spica with 2.2, which I've twice flashed myself.
So please don't assume I have "limited experience with crappy devices".
I've actually taken the time to trial out other browsers to find their good and bad points.
And yes, I'm sure the Galaxy S world agrees with you, although it's more likely, with the ignorance you're showing, that you simply agree with what you've read.
Good luck with that.
Not all of us follow the herd.

Do Android phones have capability for T9 input for texting? I am wondering if a full qwerty keyboard is any more convenient/faster than T9.
I need a new phone for actually using as a phone and was thinking Galaxy Mini. Just because
Oh and I guess because I am here do they run excel like the old PDA's used to?
Better to think inside the pub, than outside the box?
I apologize if any offence was caused. unless it was intended.
You people, you think I know feck nothing; I tell you: I know feck all
Those who cannot change their mind, cannot change anything.
Yes you can select predictive text if you want to, but I must admit, I hate it.
But if you use the on screen or full keyboard, there is a great autosuggest function that, as you start typing, gives a selection of possible words and you just click to select. I've found it much quicker than just typing.
There is an App for using Office documents called ThinkFree Office, which I use all the time.
Swype is the best keyboard. You have to d/l it outside of the Android repositories.
Some phones have it as stock. If yours doesn't, get it.
Don't be such a fuckwit Harry in over a year of use I found the SGS browser to be the best WTF does that got to do with following the herd? Because others say the same?
Ignorance is stating that Opera is a good browser. It's shit. The worst Android browser ever.
The mere fact you'd come out with such bullshit tells me you've never even tried it.
I realise people like yourself are easily impressed, but I prefer to get the tools that do the job.
Like I said, Opera Mini for fast, convenient access to PDA sites.
Skyfire for native flash support and a nice interface.
While I realise you might not agree with my opinion, it's probably best not to try and dispute it unless you actually have something to offer other than "That's shit, and this is great because it says so on the Internet".
Oh, and "I've been using it for a year" (i.e. "I've never used anything else because I don't think I need to") is not a justification for negativity towards other browsers about which you clearly know fuck all. That's the whole beauty of Android, it's an open ecosystem.
