Viewsonic VCD22 Android Smart Display
We've seen Android on some strange things recently. Case in point; Viewsonic have announced an 22 inch Android tablet. That's a lot of inches.
Admittedly it isn't a tablet, it weighs 3.5kg and needs to be plugged into a power socket, but it does the same things.
Running Android 4.0 - also known as Ice Cream Sandwich - the Viewsonic VCD22 is being dubbed a 'smart display' by the company.
It has a 1GHz dual-core processor and a 1.2 megapixel camera. Again, this is exactly what we'd expect to find on a tablet. There are also three USB 3.0 ports, HDMI, an Ethernet port and an SD card slot.
We're not entirely sure Android works on such a large device - the operating system looks uncomfortable enough on a 10 inch tablet, let alone a 22 inch monitor, but we applaud Viewsonic's scattergun approach to product development.
