Ok....thanks for having the humility to say you said something wrong. We're only human, but it always amazes me when people stick to their guns without the mental flexibility to sometimes admit they said something silly. I'm quite happy to admit I say silly/wrong things sometimes.....I have no problem with that at all. I'm sure you'll be keeping an eye on me !
Do you see the point about why Australian people are alarmed though ?
The new government is sending the wrong messages to the illegals and their facilitators. Even though I voted for this government, they are not being tough enough.....though they are getting the message now. And regarding the children being currently sent back, it has been rightly said that "Justice needs to be done, but it also needs to be SEEN to be done".
I agree that it's not nice to send back under-18s, but if Australia doesn't, they will be seen to be weak, and a huge number of under 18s will arrive. The graph shows EXACTLY what happens when the illegals see a government as being a "soft touch". The ( well-known for standing up for human rights and soft on illegals) Labour party came into power in December 2007.......The timing is amazing.
