    Not exactly "little known".

Well, that certainly ruined the movie for me!

I'm sure that under Tom Cruise's skillful direction, history will have somehow changed dramatically. So in a way, i'm sure it will be 'little known'.

If Cruise is directing then it will Scientologists that whip ass on the krauts and the yanks will stay in London and screw the chamber maids.

Like Winny said when asked what he thought of Yanks.
He said," well they are over"

What do you mean by over?

"Well they are over paid, Over sexed and Over here"..

    Silly old prick..

So smart that when the film 'King George V", or what ever reign it was, had to be renamed 'The madness in King George' because American audiences wouldn't understand that they handn't seen the previous King George films. Similar to Rocky 3

Any prick monarch whose name is the same as his father, grandfather, great grandfather and great, great grandfather solely because of his "superior bloodline" is not worth making a movie about. Jazz up the title, apply bells and whistles, and it's still a turd waiting to be flushed in theaters around America.

    That's sooo 230 years ago.

It probably is little known to the 18 - 35 year old males in America, which is the usual target demographic for war films.

I believe that you've always required permission to fly the Union Flag in public places, but it's a law that is never enforced.

We do fly the flag for worthwhile things like sporting events. Sending our citizens to die at the hands of a bunch of freedom fighters in an illegal and immoral war doesn't really stir up national pride for some reason.

In my OP FE I was repeating what the reporter said on Fox.

Apparently it is so in the States. Like lots of other Historical events that
    occurred elsewhere.

Can't wait to see what Hollywood does with the Hitler Assassination attempt.

Actually, Adolph turned it round rather cleverly. Said the fact that he survived proved he was invincible.......

It does if you're winning, we need another war against a country that's easy to beat. Never liked the Maldives much, always thought they could be hiding nukes under all those atolls.

Well to be fair why should it? They are in the business of entertainment, not making historically accurate documentaries. That's what the History Channel et al are for.

    Movies - - - - - - - - > Reality

As my helpful illustration shows the two can be mutually exclusive

    LITTLE BLUDDY KNOWN!

I am very fond of Americans as a rule (Yeah I freely admit it Old Bean) but their ignorance of anything that has or is happening, beyond their shores is laughable at times.

Even more laughable, of course, will be their slant on this piece of history.
I agree. 'Merkins in general, are not that well versed in history, be it their own or other parts of the world.

Bet Milky will be spitting blood when he sees it............
I don't watch movies. I am no fan of Hitler. Recently I have been studying his use of propaganda to influence people/masses/the public.

The posters for "Titanic" listed the movie as being "2 hours 74 minutes" in duration; industry consensus was that people wouldn't want to watch a film longer than three hours.

Keep me out of the American love/hate battle; I am in California, which is it's own sovereign nation. [Well, more like part of Mexico actually...]

Trouble is Ant old Bean. People see the Movie and THINK IT"S THE WAY IT WAS! I know they SOMETIMES put up "Based on a true set of events" but who reads the captions......?
