The orange moron threw Ukraine under the bus today. He completely rolled over and gave Putin what he wanted. It is a dark day not only for Ukraine but NATO and the west as well. I am embarrassed to be an American.

The US wanted to be the "Super power", got it post WW2 and understood the responsibilty that entailed, now it can't afford the responsibilty but still wants the status, under this cvnt.

I will say he is right in two ares; NATO and Europe. Both institutions have trod water and "Allowed" the US and its tax payers to cover the cost of provicing a military sanctions should Russia or other antagonist decide to test treaties, borders or the world ordsr.

I agree with bsnub. And with Trump in office, Europe, including the UK, urgently needs to rearm. If I was Putin, I'd grab what I can settle for in Ukraine, and within a year or two prod elsewhere. Trump doesn't care and much of Europe isn't interested in defending itself. Only a few countries such as Poland offer any deterrence.

If there is a peace deal that would be even worse of a stituation for Europe, because that would free up 150k Russian soldiers to possibly attack the north-eastern flank of Europe. If Pootin were to invade the Baltic States, my guess is the orange moron would sit back and let it happen.

I posted on another thread, Putin is already prodding NATO with all kinds of asymmetric attacks. Probably it is more difficult for NATO to reply in kind. I'd like to see them be more robust, for example detain all those shadow fleet tankers in the Baltic. Just make up some excuse. I'm not sure where we could park them, there are hundreds of them.
Or provoke something along the China-Russia border. That must be Putin's worst nightmare.

Another sad thing about all of this is that Trump has probably now turned the US into the most hated country in the world (although its still a strong field and they were highly competitive beforehand ) and reasonable, Trump-hating decent Americans will feel the backlash when they're holidaying in Europe this summer.
