I have the heating on full blast and am still cold.

Here, in Swissland, it can get really hot in the summer (30 degrees) and then this shit shit shit winter starts. If i was a skier i may appreciate it more. We don't see the sun for months because of "low lying cloud" and people actually have nervous breakdowns because of that.

So we go off for exotic holidays to places like Thailand or Kenya in February or March and come home all nice and happy. With suntans to die for, which no one will see because we have to put our winter woolies back on as soon as we touch down at the cold grey airport.

    And it's only the beginning....

It's the wind that kills me. I'm off to Edinburgh for Christmas - it's not know as the Windy City for nothing.

Passengers forced to spend SIX hours overnight on their commuter train home as snow brings rail network to a halt
    By DAILY MAIL REPORTER
Last updated at 7:55 AM on 1st December 2010

Passengers spent more than six hours on a broken down train last night as snow brought much of the network around London to a halt.
Commuters trying to get home from London Bridge were forced to spend the entire night on the train, wrapping themselves in layers of clothes to combat the sub-zero temperatures.
Many buses and trains were near-empty during early-morning rush hour today, with thousands of workers expected to stay at home as snow and icy conditions continue.

Last night thousands of commuters fought for places on the handful of trains which did make it out of the capital.
Others were forced to wait for hours or booked into hotels for the night.
There was gridlock on the M25, as London saw more breakdowns than any other part of the country, the AA said.
The Dartford Bridge was closed and traffic into Kent was halted by a jack-knifed lorry.

Destination boards show no services running at Victoria Station as passengers are left stranded

The stranded train from London Bridge was just one of many brought to a standstill as the network ground to a halt throughout the afternoon. All trains from Victoria Station were cancelled.
Gatwick Airport closed at 10.30pm causing misery for hundreds of travellers hoping to escape from the earliest big freeze seen for years.
This morning travellers were urged to check on their flights before leaving for the airport.
In the north dozens of drivers were forced to abandon their cars in snowdrifts and make their way home on foot.
As usual in a nation that seems to be caught out every year by the winter, chaos reigned in areas hit by even the lightest snowfalls, where un-gritted streets and sub-zero temperatures made driving impossible or treacherous.
From 10ft drifts in the far north of Scotland to ice on the beach along the normally mild south coast, thousands had tales of terror from the day the snow came.
Last night workers were earlier warned by Network Rail to begin their homeward journeys as soon as possible with colder weather and heavier snowfall expected through the night and tomorrow.
And with drivers struggling to use an icy road network, and Gatwick Airport cancelling 16 flights while others were affected by suspensions and delays, one of the coldest Novembers in decades has left Britons facing anxious journeys this evening and on Wednesday morning.
In angry scenes, passengers at Victoria remonstrated with station staff demanding more information.
One passenger, who asked not to be named, said: 'It was hellish. Every platform had a train on but they were going nowhere.
'When we were finally allowed on one it was completely filled and arguments were breaking out everywhere. I cannot believe this is happening again.'

Commuters arriving at East Croydon Station had to be monitored by police officers to prevent dangerous overcrowding

Gridlock: Severe delays were experienced by motorists near Junction 10 of the M25 in Surrey
Just two weeks after Network Rail claimed it was prepared for the cold weather, rail customers were left furious today as the 'sheer weight' of snow created severe train delays.

White-out: Big Ben is at the centre of a snowstorm in London as the big November freeze continues
A Network Rail spokesman said across the country 73 per cent of train services were operating to time which was better than expected.

    The ultimate lock-in

The ultimate lock-in: Seven trapped in Yorkshire pub for last EIGHT days as forecasters warn Big Freeze will go on for at least another week
    By DAILY MAIL REPORTER
Last updated at 7:09 PM on 4th December 2010

While thousands braved the cold to begin their Christmas shopping, seven people in North Yorkshire are praying for better weather after being snowed into a pub for eight days and counting.
Heavy snow showers and strong winds have left the group stuck in the Lion Inn pub in Blakey Ridge, Kirkbymoorside since last Friday, with little chance of an escape.
Drifts of up to 16ft blocked the inn's doors and windows, with the surrounding roads impassable, and to make matters worse, the stranded seven's cars are buried under nine foot of snow.

The group's predicament in the fourth highest pub in England continues as forecasters warned Britons to expect icy conditions for at least another week, with temperatures falling as low as -10C in the South East of England overnight.
Katie Underwood, 18, who has been a waitress at the Lion Inn for four years, said: 'It was really novel at first, and quite exciting.
'The snow is immense. Most of the windows in here are blocked up, but we've got a door open at the back to get some air when we need to.'

Blocked: A window at the Lion Inn pub is barely visible after huge snow drifts
She added: 'The boys that are here have been skiing on trays down the massive slopes, and we've made snow angels but the novelty is definitely starting to wear off.'
    WEEKEND FORECAST
    SATURDAY EVENING
Snow showers or long spells of snow pushing southwards across Scotland
Night-time lows of -7C in Tayside and Fife and highs of 8C in Dover
    SUNDAY
Many areas dry and bright with snow showers continuing further north. Very cold, frosty and icy.
Daytime lows of -5C in Perth, highs of 8C in Newquay
Night-time lows of -8C in Tayside and Fife, with highs of 1C in Wick
    MONDAY
Snow and coastal rain pushing into northern England and Wales
Bitterly cold, temperatures to hover around freezing
'Now they're all out trying to dig their cars out of the deep snow. It's been absolutely freezing, but we've been lucky that it's a pub and B&B we're trapped in.'

Its about -5 today, so not much to do, but have a brisk walk to the local and sample some of the fine ale on offer. I decided to stick with the tried and tested ales, such as Copper dragon best bitter, and its slightly stronger brother, Golden pippin. Both were cracking beers, but I had to finish off with some good old Black sheep best bitter. Winter does have its advantages.

Dry - south Sa Kaeo and the ground is cracking already. We missed the heavy rains/floods of recent months. Blue skies for the next few months, looking at Thai Met Office site, based on figures since 1961, we can expect up to one day of rainfall (up to 6mm!) before now and February.

These pics from a cycling trip yesterday.

Sunny, blue skies, nice breeze coming down into the valley from the surrounding mountains, about 82 degrees. Everything is green, orchids doing well - life is good.

^ Same here in Pattaya for most of the day mate.

Would of been OK but I had intended to do some outdoor painting but reverted to indoor tiling and fixing a minor roof leak
