A week ago the was nothing. I never really notice this guy moving soil. I thought he was altering the walkways in the rice paddies for the purpose of draining them for harvest. It appears he's making a raised base for a house. All done by hand, one bucket at a time. Amazing.
The photo's don't really show on how hard this guy has worked.
What's that concrete marker ? Boundary line ? Surely not a grave ?
It could well be an old electricity pole/post? That's my belief. He's planted a banana tree adjacent to it so maybe he's going to remove it today? I'll let you know tomorrow.
Hard work indeed ! , lets hope when he has finished building the house the junta don't come round and tell him its agricultural land and it has to come down
A wooden structure on Sor Por Kor land is allowable. I'll keep track of the guy's build as I cycle past most days.
Must be a nice ride mate , there are so many nice tracks and minor roads in the area around our place to ride along , but I have given up on it because of the free running wild aggressive dogs on em all .
I've tried the lot. I ended up with a 1m long cane. If you see a dog ahead let him see it as you hold it up. They soon shy away. Those that come from the side or rear get a good swipe. Strange they have this ability to remember you thereafter.Originally Posted by nigelandjan

Took a couple of friends along to see one of the morning processions that occur during the annual Phuket Vegetarian Festival (it ends tomorrow). Having been a few years ago, we don't normally bother as it's only ever a variation on the same theme. However, thought I'd share some of the phone camera shots that I took:
