This is from last week at Mirdif City Centre. The shop is Home Life which specalizes in home appliances. December 2nd was UAE's national day and its 40th anniversary. So I'm older than the country I live in.

In this spot, they used to have the union jack Smeg fridge.

I thought of that too! Notice the name of the store opposite - Eros. I always laugh when I see it.

My friend and I spent a week in Oman a couple of weeks ago. We came back to UAE through the Buraimi / Al Ain border crossing. This is the sign you see just before the crossing.

From looking at the red signage. It looks like that it is illegal to import badminton shuttlecocks, even for personal use.
    What a hard-arsed state eh?
Do you do any elict badminton matches or a crafty game of squash behind closed doors Nat?
Heavens forbid if they find an illegal swingball set up in the garden.
    Off with her hands!
    Black diamonds? I shit 'em.

As the weather in blighty is a little on the wet, windy and cold side even for a salty old sea dog such as myself, her indoors has got a right face on.
So decided to cheer her up with some fresh fish caught by her Buffalo.

It looks eerily quiet, how are you finding the traffic - busy or not?

This enterprising fellow has opened a cocktail bar at our local outdoor restaurant in Jomtien.

60 each Baht for a cocktail.

Mai Thai for the Mrs and a Black Russian for me.
