I sold my vynyl 6 months ago, I nearly cried as it was my life long collection.

Foking sad day but I photographed every record and can still look at them on disc.

I could never sell my vinyl. They don't just sit and gather dust either as I play them regularly. I love the pop as the needle falls into the grroove, the crackles in between tracks and the ...snick ...snick right at the end (a vinyl tragic?) Better than CDs/MP3s any day. The whole collection, including quite a few original Stones pressings from before I was born (picked up in record shop stock clearouts in the early 80's), got slightly damaged in a flood and I got a few thousand $ off the insurance. Probably not worth as much as collectors items with the slight sleeve damage but does not affect the playability of the disks.

Nope, not a one coming with me. One will be coming after me, via Spain, though.
    Via Spain?? Tell me more!

Great thread NR, though don't know why fax machines and cash were on the list, that's jumping the gun a bit I think.

Shame about MiniDisc's, I thought they were rather good but they came out too late so never really took off.

Gave away all my CDs, VCDs, DVDs to GF's sister. She then made a fortune selling them at the market!

Bet you'll come back to Asia though.

I moved to Hong Kong in 1976 and spent many years in Singapore. I left my CDs in a hole in a tree on Koh Samet before going back to UK and picked them up when I came back at the millenium.

Think about it... and choke dee!

I don't fancy November rain in UK though.

Nevertheless, I have waaaay to much stuff in my place that I never use. It just collects dust. Time for goodies to be given away.

NR informed me today that everything was sold, even the food in her cupboard but she did give away the food in the fridge.

Was a little in despair standing in an empty house but tonight she is putting her feet up in a nice hotel.

Very nice lady and can't thank her enough for the CDs. Love the Scottish pipes and Tina Turner, will have to listen to the rest later. NR, all the best to you and yours.
