Before the days of mobile phones when you went out you would say "Meet you at the Horse and Cck at 8.30" and you would, maybe somebody would be a little bit late, maybe not. now you have

8.20 Hi Cocksniffer I'm at the turdberry bush waiting for Titty, we'll be at the Sniff and Hound so if you cut through the cydburry we might just meet you
8.25 Pimo isn't here yet, so we'll try and meet you at the Cockscrather
8.28 I've just had a text from Bimbleboy and he say drinks are half price at Friedmelons,do you want to go there. I do, but Hunglemuffin won't get in cos he's wearing trainers.
    8.35 where are you?
8.40 I'm at the bar, next to the giel with the big tits. (slap) Oh, sorry did you hear me, I didn't think anyone else could hear me whilst i talk really loud into my phone cos it's magic or sommet, init.
8.50 Cocksniffer says we should all go to Muffins cos it's really cool and there's a girl with really big tits there.
    9.00 Where are you?
    9.10 I'm at muffins
9.35 Oh, fuck we followed big tits from muffins to the Hairy Slapper.

It has certainly changed everything and not necessarily for the better..

i remember the old days (not so long ago) when people called your house phone.

if there was no answer then , they were just "out".

now, if nobody answers, there is a whole load of suspicion involved.

they are almost definitely a scourge.

i find that about 80% of pay phones in ChiangMai actually work too.

    skype is useful.
it's non intrusive and very handy at times.

    it is also free.

MSN is for teenage girls and kingwilly.

ah but there are days when thank god you have a mobile. Staying in touch is a very good thing. Look at how communications spread to the internet. Now we have "VOIP" which allows long distance calls free of charge and together with webcam can actually see each other. Ah the wonders of communications. Long live the mobile!!

Yes, I found it very non-intrusive. You lot told me to turn it on and a couple of months later no one had ever contacted me so I got rid of it

^Cheers. To be truthful it's just as easy to use PM's with anyone on TD cos I find it hard to remember that CMN's skype name is "Gaylarry" and SBF is "Singaporeslut"

skype is very useful if your wife / GF have familes that had moved to another country. As keeping in touch for them is important and skype allows them to chat and giggle for hours on end.

Can skype reach Isaan's Tincan Telecom?
Handcrank telephones -- one to a village. Get in line, limit calls to 5 minutes or 10 giggles, whichever comes first.

Mobile phones are essential in Thailand because 92.4% of homes don't have a front door bell

So have I actually. And I barely slept a wink last night. I'm equal parts nervous and excited.

That'll be why you haven't replied to the wedding invitation (no, I'm not stupid enough to get married).

I take my phone everywhere with me. Never use it for anything. Never get called either - using it for a clock just now.u
Only time I have to use it is when the missus dissapears in a shop in Seoul and i'm too lazy to keep looking at all the small Asian ladies to work out what one is mine.

the week I had last month without a phone was really great (my previous one was nicked in the Tuk.com centre at Pattaya).

unfortunately i really do have to stay contactable for work so the company bought me a new one.
