I did 3 CNY in Shanghai and usually CNY is just the prelude to the bigger bang that is to come 5 or 7 nights later (?) when the "money God" arrives.
It starts at 9 and does not stop until 4-5am

Best just plan to stay up all night and drinK
On average, 40-50 people loose a digit or eye or worse - peak time in the casualty wards!!!
