Chinese New year, what would it take you to kill your neighbour?

^ Tell me about it Jet. The idiots are letting firecrackers off at 5am here. That's bad enough, but then it starts my 30 house residents barking & howling. They shut up as soon as I go out to them, but as you can imagine, I've not had much sleep the past couple of nights. I'm up & down to quieten the dogs down quite a lot due to the 'festivities'.

The only place I have ever seen real firecrackers was in Pattaya on New Years Eve this year. Every semi-civilised country has banned them a long time ago.

Stewed Rat
Skin and eviscerate the rat and split it lengthwise. Fry until brown in a mixture of butter and peanut oil. Cover with water, add tomatoes or tomato purée, hot red peppers, and salt. Simmer the rat until tender and serve with rice.

A Rat!

If no rat use this. Same diet, nearly same taste.

I did 3 CNY in Shanghai and usually CNY is just the prelude to the bigger bang that is to come 5 or 7 nights later (?) when the "money God" arrives.
It starts at 9 and does not stop until 4-5am

Best just plan to stay up all night and drinK
On average, 40-50 people loose a digit or eye or worse - peak time in the casualty wards!!!
