Last evening for Iftar (or break fast meal) we were happy to see that the timing (unique to every location worldwide) in Central Africa was 1 minute earlier than the day before. Hey, every minute helps you know.

We were out shopping and decided to eat out, but we half an hour early. So we did it Indonesian style: sat at a table and ordered and let the food and drink stand on the table until 6:30pm. Warning in Jakarta you will not be able to find a single seat or table in any food court or restaurant up to an hour before iftar, but obviously Africa is a little different.
One kid ordered Sushi, one refused to order because she had just had a bad haircut so wasn’t hungry, and I had some khao pad something or other. (It was a sushi/Thai restaurant… I know, I know… it’s a thing here. In fact even the Italian pizza restaurant does Sushi.).
