I think Norton has hit the nail on the head with his post about French Canadians not being French-like at all
If you speak the same language, there is no reason why you would think the same. e.g.N. Americans, Aussies, S. Africans and English have little in common in actual fact besides the language
so if you speak Thai, you will not think like a local. If you mix with Thais, and can communicate, you may understand some of the cultural differences that may make you think they think differently.
I have reported your post
Quebecois folks speak 17-18th century French. Then they just added French pronunciations for new words like tractor, welfare, separatism, Blackberry, etc.
