There are thousands of falang immigrants to Thailand.

    No there isn't.

I see from other posts of yours that you have issues with this, but there are thousands working in Thailand who have no intention of leaving the country, there are thousands on retirement visas who have no intention of leaving, there are thousands who are there illegally.

Once again, non-Immigrant visa means, wait for it... YOU ARE NOT AN IMMIGRANT!
The clue is in the name of the visa!
It doesn't matter what you care to think or what you want to believe; if you are on a Non-Immigrant or a tourist visa or even illegally you have not emigrated to Thailand.
Neither is it important what your intentions even if you are here as a retiree (Non-Immigrant again) you are still a temporary resident for purposes other than tourism.

I am stating plain facts here, I don't have issues with anything as I have no desire to even achieve permanent residency let alone become a Thai citizen.
I am under no illusion (or should that be delusion?) as to my status here!

Have you seen how the immigration restrictions to the UK keep getting tighter? Even Citizenship does not mean they can't deport you if they want to enough. You say in the following post that for permanent residency you will need to speak some Thai and know some cultural idioms; have you heard of the Life in the UK test?

I thought we have established that there are millions of immigrants in the UK that have equal rights as the indigenous population? Something that isn't true about Thailand (Chinese notwithstanding).

I notice you completely avoided my point about the limits on Westerners becoming Thai citizens. We are talking about limits in the hundreds here not thousands or tens of thousands or even hundreds of thousands as the UK has absorbed in the last few years alone.

Your constant banging on about the UK baffles me as they have been very receptive to Immigrants while Thailand is anything but.

Two different case scenarios but you are ferreting up the wrong trouser leg if you think Thailand trumps the UK in regards Immigration law and acceptance of newcomers.
