It is a well known fact that Black motorbikes are the fastest, anyway as for the taffy making a chili frankie I wouldn't hold your breath, it just aint gonna happen, they probably eat weird stuff like congealed animals blood and stuff like that, they have absolutely no idea of international dishes at all, in fact he shouldn't even be allowed in the food and drink section, well apart from that he drinks so much

Thanks DD for that, just what I needed

anyway, I have had a good day today...so far

managed to blag a couple of GP F1 tickets for the Malaysian race, and they include transport and a lunch at some posh hotel, so that should be a nice day. There are apparently some noisy cars going round and round at some point.

    my lunch sandwich was good.

I told the boss yesterday that I was going on "medical leave" in about 6 weeks time, so I can return to Europe. I am so looking forward to not working, hooray.

we found a new coffee shop this morning, cheaper and better than the previous one. Nice place to sit for an hour in the morning.

Off to a nice island for the weekend, with a bit of snorkelling thrown in.

Booked a couple of seats for some whitewater rafting in three weeks time

oh yes, did a little bit of work too
    I have reported your post

boring again today, although the new coffee shop is good

tomorrow morning we have to get up early 04.30, to get to the airport to go over to the East coast. Then a boat to the island for a couple of days, hang out on the beach and snorkel...haven't done that for a while.

    what fun!!

I had a great night at the Sheraton last night at the Old Bangkok Banger's Captain's Dinner.

Lots of beer and food and jovial backslapping. I'll try and post some pictures later.

I moved into my new flat (apartment) yesterday and everything is in a bit of a mess. Today is 'sort it out day'....really looking forward to it as you can imagine.....Nice place - compact and bijou, but great location. It's a conversion in what would have been a massive house. As I say small, about 50K B a month!!!! And this is the cheap end of the rental market. I could have saved by renting a room in a shared house but I don't like sharing a toilet....Call me old fashioned, but I think a toilet is designed for one person to go at a time.

My first effort on arriving was to break the ice-box door in the fridge. I'm pretty sure it was booby-trapped by the last tenant as it disintegrated as soon as I touched it. Looks like a gaffer tape job until I leave when I'll carfefully piece it back together ready for the next sop to open it. Anyhows, the heating works , which is handy as it's bloody freezing in the UK at the mo. To give you an idea of how cold, I watched the weather report on the tele this morning and the forcaster said, 'I'm not joking mush, it's fcking freezing out there' - and this was the BBC! I dread to think of the language used on commercial television.

I agree, it's much too cold in Europe now, especially for march.
    Look at my car:

^Unfortunately Sybil Fawlty has already used your subject on Mastermind GoW.

Been snow oop North, but they're a tougher breed up there. Us southerners start panic buying tinned goods at the fall of the first flake.

^ Been about three inches of snow up here in Runcorn. Weather forecasters got it right for a change.

I had a good weekend. We got up so early Saturday morning, 4.30am, to catch the 7.00 flight. The driver never arrived at 5am, so we started to panic, ordered a taxi then the driver rang and blamed his alarm clock. Cancelled the taxi and waited for him. I rerckon he just forgot and our calling him woke him up.

Anyway, got to the airport in time, had a nice short flight, then a taxi to the port, a quick boat trip across, and we checked in to our resort before 10am. Breakfast looking across the beautiful beach, then time for a swim. We walked down the beach, across some rocks to the next beach. We stayed there for hours, completely alone, snorkelling and just lieing in the shade reading and talking. very nice. So relaxing too.

Late lunch the some sex in the hut. We went back to the restaurant just before sunset, with a botle of wine. They did not have a corkscrew, and I could not get the cork to shift. The handyman came over and took the bottle away. About 20 minutes of anxious waiting, back came the waitress with the bottle on a tray, opened. The guy had drilled it out.

So we sat there watching the sunset, drinking the wine, then eating a nice fish, and got a bit pissed. A walk on the beach and off to bed.

Next day, a similar beach story, with a late checkout at 4pm. We returned home quite late and very knackered. Altogether a good weekend, and all the transport worked out well. AirAsia rules!!!

It was an island off the east coast of Malaysia, Pulau Kapas

there are quite a few there, all nice but also expensive compared to Thailand. As I am working in KL at the moment it was the easiest option.

I was a bit apprehensive that it would be crowded and a bit dirty, like the west coast, but it was great.

As I say, the only gripe was the cost, about 1200baht a night for something you would pay half in Thailand. But it was only one night.

A fuking great start to the day.
Last night I left the lights on my bike, bastard wouldn't start, so had to do a running jump start.
Got it going and thought I'd better give it some charge so shot it up and down the ring road.
Unfortunately i wasn't wearing my helmet and even more unfortunately the boys in brown pulled me over in a spot they have never been known to lurk before.
Had nothing on me, no passport, no licence (don't have one anyway), no books for the bike...nothing.
Now, usually a little 100 or 200 baht offer is taken, but I had left my wallet at home, not planning on going shopping or anything.
So, now I've got to go to the station and pay the 400 in full eating into a large part of my day and a big enough part of my wallet..
    Bollux.
