Tom is 5 foot 7 in real life.
I had a nice holiday and it isn't over yet. In a positive mood about 2024.
what's the weather been like? windy?
heading nearby tomorrow and just packed a jumper...
Windy with warm spells, I would pack a jumper for the evenings.
Around 4pm this afternoon the doorbell went and it was a delivery guy with a parcel all the way from Sweden. Not a bad service for Boxing Day... I bet you don't get that in Birmingham.
Many thanks, MalmoMike!
This must be the third or fourth year on the trot that you've sent us a Crimbo parcel and as always, it created quite a stir.
I don't know what I've done to deserve it but we are all very grateful... although sadly this year there was nothing for the daughter or wife? There were chews for the dogs, a Terry's Chocolate Orange and a mint-flavoured Chocolate Orange (which is new to me and I am particularly looking forward to), a pack of some sweets called 'Sour Patch Kids' which look interesting and also a tube of Fruit Pastels which I haven't had for years. All very much appreciated!
Mange takk!
In fact, my cheer is tinged with a bit of sadness. In two days my lovely Kommandant heads 'up country' to spend New Year with the less cosmopolitan branch of the family... yeah, Korat is the bright lights for these guys. However I positively encourage these trips and this is still included in my 'cheer', but today the daughter also arranged to join her best friend and family on a trip to Rayong and leaves at 5:30am tomorrow.
The quirks of fate. If someone had told me 20 years ago that I'd be spending New Year's, two decades later, in Nakhon Bumfuk Nowhere with an incomprehensible gardener and a pack of street dogs I would have thought WTF? However could things get so weird for that to happen?
Had I been given prior notice I could have made arrangements... the daughter's Aussie passport is up for renewal, something that I've been keeping up my sleeve until things get really urgent.
If you know what I mean.
You are being abandoned on countdown, outragious. It's a shame Jess can't have her new year Orange. Given the extended pack family I upped chew quotient. Happy Xmas and New year, I am looking forward to the factotum pond diving under your direction for pla chon.
How long would it take to ring for a taxi to Bangkok?
you could ask PJG if she would like to consume some "sour patch kids" , if you know what I mean
Uninterrupted Boxing Day test viewing.
So many opportunities and all he does is moan…
Not sure where to post this but it triggered a memory or two. I recall back in 2002 ish that when the first Apache was delivered to SAAvn in Middle Wallop, overnight it keeled over on the tarmac as it wasn't up to the weight of the airframe and then ARTD had to shell out for a new hardened landing pad and hold off training for a few months. Mind you that ain't anything to dropping the ball like DES did when they missed including a special dock large enough to berth Big Lizzie in Portsmouth

I was sat concentrating on replying to a TD post when in the background Chanel 3 had their daily lets teach Thais a phrase in English, well fuck me, no that wasn't the phrase but what was enunciated by a Thai Lady was "I am absolutely knackered". she repeats it a few times in English and translated to Thai and then contextualises it - it took me two repetitions before i twigged it was on TV and then i pissed me sen laughing - you have to love em
Sat by the Chao Phraya eating snacks ( nam phrik kapi and soft shell crab) with a few cold ones. Unbelievably the place sticks to the 2 to 5 pm alcohol curfew but you can pay for it and still get served - disaster averted
Silver Spoon Restaurant is good.
We want a Pierre Cardin clad photo review.
I managed to avoid the exit seat by 14 minutes to pre order 3 beers and save the day. Yesterday at 3.30pm gagging for a cold one I found a beer wat ( wholesaler) who kindly popped me Yai in a single black placcy bag so I could have a cold one with me spring rolls. It was a bit hot.
One's first holiday in Thailand always is exciting.
