There are a 100 billion XRP, or will be, currently 50% released. Not a bad guess only out by 1000x. most of the rest through smart contracts, so the people own ripple cant dump them.
Its a good link but saying the daily trasactions would plateau at 100k per day is absurd. ah its says if 100,000 XRP were destroyed per day.
quick google and mastercard processes over 3 billion transactions per day.
So say 10 billion transactions per day at 0.00001 XRP per transaction then that would be 3.6% consumed in 100 years, If 30 billion per day, then 10% consumed in 100 years. and if another tech emerges then its over for XRP.
to be significant you would need about at least about 300 billion transactions per day.
so looking at that then its true, the level of destruction would be very slow. good link cheers.

Looks like it Ethereum's turn today. ^ ^ ^ ^
DOG up 30% today too.
BTC still flat as a pancake. Taking out some of my BTC returns and putting them into ETC, LTC and XRP for the short-term, until BTC starts to take off again.
XRP Ripple up 74% to the thb today!
Crazy.
ETH up 22% today. Pushing $700.
$688.77
21.900%
A good source of info for coins. https://coincheckup.com/
A good tab is the predictions. Cites the value per coin at a given % of M0 in the world invested in it. (physical notes and coins and central bank holdings), about $5 trillion currently. Very good reality check. M1 is $ 25 trillion and M2 $60 trillion.
And I am looking into this ICO: https://www.gatcoin.io/
I think its a potentially a good one, they have patented airdrops of marketing tokens offering special offers and rewards to directly into your mobile, and will set up an exchange where you can trade your points, tokens etc for something you really want, perhaps even cash.

ETH smashing through the $700 barrier.
$736.38
I think, assuming IOTA can succeed, it has one of the best potential returns in the LT.
There are 2.7 quadrillion IOTA. If they succeed to become the currency of the of the IoT, then use of about $1 trillion per year is a fairly modest projection.
Currently IOTA is $4.2 per million IOTA (mIOTA)
1 trillion/2.7 quadrillion = $0.00036 per IOTA, so mIOTA would go for $360.
Eevn if I am out by a factor of 10, Not bad![]()
The cyptomarket cap is now 500 billion, and rising fast. I think it will will reach somewhere between $1-2 trillion before people start asking themselves what exactly is a bitcoin and what does it do?
At which point we might well see a ‘correction’.
So bitcoin to $100,000? I think its possible if it can make it past $50,000.
This is gonna be fun.
LTC down to £233 i notice, sure was about £270 yesterday when I was trying to register with coinbase. Saved £400, winning!!!!!!
i'm just playing around with the cryptos (no serious money) and have signed up with a few exchages:
yes, they seem to have a solid rep, so i signed up with bitstamp (based in luxemberg): can trade xrp there, too.
the us-based ones in san fran (krakken, coinbase) and vegas (bitrex) are more difficult to sign up to from thailand.
and, for those complaining about long wait times: with my kasikorn debit card, and sending a photo of me holding the card and my passport, i was approved to start trading at cex.io (london) in about 10 minutes
(total time about 20-30 minutes to sign up and then be ready to trade).
higher rates at cex.io, though they use FOK orders (executed immediately and in full).
and binance is the place to get it, right?
good reports of offering a variety of coins and low fees, though the negative side (i guess) is being new and based in china.
yep, read about that.
what do you think about the paper wallet version? have a safe? ;-)

Bitcoin futures spike, trip circuit breakers
Contract prices shot up more than 20% hours after Cboe Global Markets opened trading of bitcoin futures, triggering circuit breakers that temporarily shutdown trading to manage volatility. Dealers say they were handling bigger volumes than expected.

Interesting discussion about what the futures market means to Bitcoin and the other crypto coin..
have to eat my words over ETH - seems to be powering over the 700 mark
even ZEC has crossed the 400 mark
I think that Mannarino guy is right about the alt-coins going up because of the futures market.
I be glad I bought some way back in August and September.
- Litecoin, a smaller cousin of bitcoin, has seen its value more than double in just one day.
- Litecoin creator Charlie Lee tweeted a sobering warning to those not prepared to lose their entire investment.
Cryptocurrencies have exploded since bitcoin futures began trading in Chicago over the weekend.
Litecoin, the fifth-largest coin by market-cap, has seen its value more than double since Sunday afternoon, trading above $US300 Tuesday morning - 110% above its weekend price.
Creator Charlie Lee wasn't celebrating like some other Litecoin holders, though. The former director of engineering at crypto exchange Coinbase tweeted a dire warning for potential litecoin holders Monday night:
"Sorry to spoil the party, but I need to reign in the excitement a bit…," he wrote. "Buying LTC is extremely risky. I expect us to have a multi-year bear market like the one we just had where LTC dropped 90% in value ($US48 to $US4). So if you can't handle LTC dropping to $US20, don't buy!"
