If you have the dollars offshore, if you have an account from which the offshore account can purchase at the quoted exchange if you have a SSN, an appropriate passport ..........

    Tick all the boxes?

    scammers be scammin....

SEOUL—South Korean prosecutors detained the heads of two cryptocurrency exchanges, including one of the country’s largest exchanges, for allegedly embezzling customers’ assets, the latest in a string of enforcement actions tied to suspected malfeasance in the country’s bitcoin market.

Prosecutors confirmed on Thursday that they had detained the chief of Coinnest, as well as the head of another unidentified bitcoin exchange and two other senior executives. Prosecutors will seek arrest warrants for the suspects pending further investigation, they said. Prosecutors declined to name the other exchange

monero , sumcoin , eth and various other coins are forking as ASICs for their algos are seen taking hashpower

and thus showing that they are centralised coins - epic fail

asic resistance means exactly what it says on the tin - it is resistant to asics , but not immune and if memory becomes cheaper then the resistance fails

all coins should be welcoming asics and encouraging multiple vendors which will then allow geographically diverse mining and greater hashing power which is good for coin security

    Hmmmm...

I've been mining Monero on & off for a few years. Can't speak for all the links provided but the info in the Monero link is very suspect.
    This especially
According to the blurb on its website MoneroV ‘has limited supply of coins while Monero’s coin supply is infinite
is quite wrong. It's technically possible, same as it is technically possible with every coin on the market from BTC to whatever is last on the list, but suicide for any coin. The replies to the article also look like they're written by the same authors as those that run the ETH scams on Twitter. So I'd say where is the evidence that the CryptoNite algo has been ASICed?

I guess the issue with ASICs is it takes the small guy out of the market. Rather than being all inclusive of all people, it puts more power in the hands of ASIC miners and still doesn't solve the 51% attack issue. If anything it makes it more possible.
Some people think it don't, but it be.

Monero forked in March because of crypto night asics coming out - nothing to do with moneroV which is obviously a fork scamcoin.

Though I did not think sia was going to fork even though they could still do it once and have the ability to still be able to use obelisks.

you went at the top, typical small investor bias, buy hi
well, ant sold his small holding of zcoin or whatever it was.

but, the coins he's holding (ripple and eth) were bought near the recent top.

example: ant buying eth when it was less than $100 below the 60 day high of $960.

    it's now $375.

Well, bitcoin kinda reminds me of that.

    Good luck everyone
yep, looked at the chart (quite similar).

and probably is a positive scenario for most cryptos as many will go to 0.

how many times can you try to predict "a bottom".

and then the next week support is broken again and you try to predict another "bottom", especially when your hopes that this "botttom" holds isn't based on anything solid like fundamentals.

eth is a typical example of crypto charts.

and, btw: welcome dragonfly back to the thread.

this thread needs its ying (earl) and yang (df) and then others talking about charts, fundamentals, dreams, wishes, forks, latest news, etc.

    it's all good, IMO.

and to have luigi who wears his heart on his sleeve (in a light-hearted manner) getting really excited when his crypto's going up and laughing at himself at it goes down.

it's a good thread and quite informative of this whole crypto/blockchain new technology.

    Interesting, thanks.

I was at one point considering buying a SC miner but with SC prices currently this low it's much less of a hassle to just buy it on Poloniex.

Just signed up with Uphold: https://uphold.com/

It's fairly new, got some good reviews and good backing. The crypto offerings are a bit on the low side atm, but they have a bunch of fiat and some precious metals you can swap money through. No Thai Baht atm. You can fund with money transfer or credit card, crypto transfers coming soon. Verification took only a few minutes.

Expecting good things from this new exchange.

    Supported currencies: https://support.uphold.com/hc/en-us/...ted-currencies

I do realise it means fcuk all to you

and I do realise that you believe you know what is going on - you have spouted enough about bitcoin being a tulip ponzi to convince yourself that you are a master florist and maybe some of your flemish family ancestors wasted their money on a tulip miner in the past

but you have no chance of convincing me that you have any idea what is going on - your past record speaks for itself

you should get over to thailand chatter and get smeggles the bitcoin inventor to explain it to you
