Waitress - shakes head

Me - LONG EYE LUNDDD

Wife talks to her and the waitress nods and walks off

Me - Huh, why does she not understand me ? it's a Farang word eye-lund, same Eng-Lund, fin-Lund, Ire-Lund, Switzer-Lund, Nether-lunds.

Wife - What do you call THAI LAND ?

me - Ahhhh


Anyway, why cant they guess the mispronunciation ?

The other one that springs to mind is TI- GER
