I quite like Franziskaner PH. Excellent chilled and poured into a tall chilled beer glass.

I love the dunkel. Not so much a fan of the weissbier, but I love a couple of dark beers every now and then.

What a great name too: dunkel.

Gawd, I miss my trips to Germany. It's been too long...

I don't drink enough beer (that should set off our gap-toothed midget again) to have any beer glasses . . . I bow to your superior brew-style.

German lends itself to sound . . . different . . . in what other language could a car manufacturer put a simple mechanical word like compressor and make it sound so very impressive:

Yes . . . far too many times . . . surrounded by bloody Anglos everywhere!!! . Some are funny, some aren't . . . but the German word for 'daisy' is cute when translated . . . 'Little goose flower'.

It's also regional, we don't have a harsh 'ch' (phlegm irrigation) in my region . . . that's pretty much Dutch and Swiss . . . but we have the Saxons whose pronunciation is cringeworthy.

You forgot to mention the penchant in German to simply add word after word after word to make a really long one, like Kraftfahrzeughaftpflichtversicherung . . . or Car insurance.

Rindfleischetikettierungsüberwachungsaufgabenübetr agungsgesetzg . . . a simple law about beef.

    So many more . . .

We are not massive drinkers either but a good beer goes well with good food

The tops near us stocks some great beers; Beer Lao Dark next!

Kirin's are definitely better from a can in Thailand.

^^^^^That has given me a hankering to find some quality Japanese/Korean beer

I remember loving the stuff when I visited. Really malty flavoured lager. The best stuff came in gold cans in each country but had names that I did not recognise from western bottle shops imports.

Talking of Japs, DW-K had a brace of mighty Mitsubishi A6M Rei-sen/Zero/Zekes in his sights this evening

This fearsome icon started the war as the most potent carrier-capable fighter in the world but technological advances during the long campaign saw the newer allied aircraft leave the Zero behind in firepower and manoeuvrability

Started with a few free Tigers.

    What are you drinking today?-whatsapp-image-2022-01-07-5-a

Then the rain came down, so I had to stay put.

Discovered Fransiskaner on the menu. (set of three for 95Rm - not super cheap, but not bad) - so a set it was.

Then we started on a bottle of Singleton.

^^^have not had a weissbeer in many a long while. I might have to scoot down to Dano's

You would think that a Bf-109 sporting wall to wall swastikas would be flying for Nazi Germany but you would be wrong

    What are you drinking today?-img_20220109_221943-jpg

The swastika roundel is from Finland

Finland was also a part-time tactical German ally during WWII

However they adopted the swastika before the 3rd Reich had been dreamt up, while Hitler was still a humble corporal, at the end of WWI, and it has no connection to the Nazis

I bought some of that a few months ago for £30, supposedly a months supply.
Canned it in a week with minimal effect, total con.
