Coffee, Whiskey but Vodka!!!!
When it comes to simple and satisfying cocktails, few can beat the black Russian. This popular lowball is enjoyed worldwide and the combination of vodka with a coffee liqueur creates a pleasant and irresistible drink.
The black Russian is so well-known that it should be among the first cocktails that every aspiring bartender commits to memory. While you're at it, be sure to learn how to make the white Russian as well.
There is not much to the black Russian recipe and it's on of those incredibly easy drinks that anyone can mix up. You will simply pour your favorite vodka and coffee liqueur (typically Kahlua) over ice, stir, and serve. Despite its simplicity, there are a few things that you can do to enhance the black Russian.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 ounces vodka
- 3/4 ounce coffee liqueur
- Optional: maraschino cherries
Steps to Make It
- Gather the ingredients.
- Build the ingredients in an old-fashioned glass filled with ice.
- Stir well.
- Garnish with cherries, if using.
- Serve and enjoy!
Not forgetting....
^ very noice.
Coffee and vodka (& hard drugs...):
I've been staying in this hotel for over four weeks now and I've had enough, and the alcohol consumption is gradually rising - still another two weeks to go to finish up this project as well...
Tonight, to celebrate the weekend I went for a solitary wander around a few bars straight from work. I visited one bar I last drank in over twenty years ago, back when I regularly worked in Norway in the 1990s.
Lo and behold I saw this picture on the wall. My mate's wife took it around 1995 I would think, and it's been hanging on the wall ever since. It brought back a lot of memories and made me realise how much I've aged...
After that, business as usual in the hotel room. Work tomorrow...
Went for a Chilean this weekend - under 40 quid and not bad at all!

Hold on they do a nice quiche in there.
This is the very mens bar Mackkjelleren. I don't think they have gay bars in Norway, but anyway, how would I know?
Not a quiche in sight either. That I could go for!
Tall cans of “Shuhai” = shochu and grapefruit juice.
Disgustingly pleasant, I must say..
