Some herbalists advise using lobelia homeopathically, and others advocate much larger doses.
I have found that both methods work, but I use very little, as in a homeopathic dose, effectively.
A larger dose (more than a teaspoon or so of dried lobelia inflata leaf) has the same effect as smoking a lot of tobacco at once, nausea, diziness etc.

Occasionally, I will drink lobelia tea using about a flat teaspoon of dried lobelia inflata leaf to
350 ml hot water with some lemon and honey, sipping on that infusion over about an hour or so.
