That's how I did it, Slap.
I cut down to only a few puffs on my pipe a few times a day, and only outside.
I took a chew of lobelia leaf one day and felt a bit weird, then alternated between having a puff or two and having lobelia for about three days then one morning went out on the verandah for my usual puff and a coffee, took a puff or three on the pipe, didn't like it too much, so decided then,
"OK, it's either tobacco or lobelia because I'm feeling weird."
So I packed my pipe and tobacco into a plastic bag and put it away at the bottom of the plastic bag drawer,
I said, "Goodbye old friend, I'll call you, don't call me." and shut the drawer.
I haven't gone to that bag or wanted to since. I just nibble a bit of lobelia if the urge takes me or have a small cup of lobelia tea occassionally.
Try it mate, it really works.
Also, I can go to the pub and have a beer or three, my mates all smoking around and the smell and presence of tobacco doesn't bother me in the least.
