A great win for India over Australia on the second last ball of the innings.

Although the Aussies lost that one I really enjoyed the game and Dhoni hit a massive six in the last over to take out the game.

    Series back on.

    Yep.

McKAy crumbled in the last over.

being hit for a six, and then sending a waist high no ball down, is rubbish.

I thought overall he bowled well today but yes his last over was a shocker.

Experience is in front of him.

I had a little punt on India at 2.8 after the Aussie innings as didn't think the Aussies had scored enough, India really should have had the game sown up a lot earlier and going into the last few overs thought Australia were going to win but up stepped Dhoni and more money for me to throw away on Scotland later (+12.5 in the handicap)!!!!!!

England back to winning ways in Abu Dhabi. Better now they've shaken some of the dust off. Maybe should have started the series with a few one-dayers instead of finishing with them.

Solid performance by Zimbabwe, but NZ hold on to win by 2 balls.

    India and Sri Lanka tie.

INDIA and Sri Lanka featured in a manic, historic first one-day tie in Adelaide as M.S. Dhoni's chasing tactics again came under the spotlight.

Unconquered Dhoni (58) hit three runs off the final ball bowled by Lasith Malinga (2/50) but India (9/236) needed a boundary to win chasing Sri Lanka's 236.

India still shored up second spot against winless Sri Lanka in the thrilling dead heat, courtesy of another Dhoni rescue mission and a knock from opener Gautam Gambhir (91). Gambhir criticised Dhoni for taking the game down to the wire in the win against Australia on Sunday and it was a case of Groundhog Day.

India needed 24 from the final two overs then nine from the last after Dhoni and Irfan Pathan punished Angelo Mathews (0/35) in the penultimate over.

Dhoni defended his tactics saying: "There was no pace in the wicket. I had to look to be there in the end. I bat at No.6 and there is not much batting behind me. You need decent partnerships. It's just what I do.

    Question marks over Punter decision

"We went after Mathews as we knew it would be harder against a slinger like Lasith."

Sachin Tendulkar returned rusty rather than refreshed from a weekend of socialising that saw the legend miss out on the 100th ton he craved in Adelaide.

The tri-series 'resting' farce had gained steam in Adelaide with reports of Tendulkar in high voltage night spots just hours before sitting out Sunday's one-day clash against Australia.

However Tendulkar, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have all been rested this series and were each dismissed for 15 against Sri Lanka - part of a rotation merry go round that threatens to spin out of control.

In the end the joke was almost on India.

Tendulkar's cheap exit to Nuwan Kulasekara (1/39) added fuel to opening partner Gambhir's stunning analysis that the legend wasn't in India's best one-day line-up.

The Sri Lankans scrambled to defend their 236 total.

Gambhir was left smarting after his third dismissal in the 90s - and second in two days - since making 97 in the World Cup final triumph against Sri Lanka. Dhoni ran out Gambhir in a mix up that left India needing 59 runs from 57 balls.

Tendulkar now has 65 runs at 21.66 this tri-series while he managed 287 at 35.87 in the Test series India lost 4-0 to Australia - needing more time at the crease ahead of the finals series.

Photos of the 188-Test icon reportedly at the HQ mega-dance complex late on Friday night - frequented by teenage ravers - are at odds with a reclusive approach this summer.

Tendulkar - the game's greatest run scorer with 15,470 at 55.44 - is yet to address his legion of fans in any media interviews on a farewell tour Down Under.

Tendulkar was in the VIP area at the dance club til late Friday night then backed up at the Stag Hotel in the heart of Adelaide's Rundle Street party precinct on Saturday night.

Fans and television networks might feel entitled to their money back with Mike Hussey also rested on Sunday while paceman Ryan Harris is furious at his enforced lay-off for the next two games in Sydney and Brisbane.

Earlier in the day, a canny half century from Dinesh Chandimal (81, 91 balls) ensured Sri Lanka (9/236) reached its respectable total after being stemmed at regular intervals by Vinay Kumar (3/46).

Did the 5-ball over cost India victory?

Adelaide: The India-Sri Lanka clash in Adelaide which witnessed the 26th tie in the history of one-day (ODI) cricket had its fair share of thrills and frills, which also included a five-ball over bowled by ace Lankan pacer Lasith Malinga.
The 30th over bowled by Malinga was prematurely ended by Aussie umpire Simon Fry standing in his 3rd ODI with Gautam Gambhir and India skipper MS Dhoni at the crease.
This was not the first instance that a five-ball over has been bowled in a limited overs international but in the context of the nail-biting finish the question that was bound to come up was: Did the loss of a delivery deny the Indians a possible victory?
"It's done and dusted with. We can create a big fuss out of it but what's the point? It's like a controversy standing right on the edge... just about to happen. What's the point as it's a controversy which is right there and we don't really want to get into anything like that... Hopefully, it won't be repeated, not only with us but not even with any other side," Dhoni said.
"As I said, we have seen in the past. We have bowled an over and we almost changed sides but the third umpire intervened and said, 'Ok you have to bowl one more ball in this particular over', but it did not happen in this game. I don't know why? Nothing can be done right now," the Indian skipper said.
Former Indian spinner Maninder Singh had his own take on the issue.
"There were 20 overs to be bowled after the incident and a lot of time for India to win the match," Maninder told CNN-IBN.
" I am surprised that no one noticed it. The leg umpire is counting the balls and TV umpire has a scorer alongside him and these days with so much competition even the batsmen are counting the balls," he said.

Malinga to Warner, OUT, Malinga's hoodwinked Warner in some style here. The pace has yo-yoed from the mid 140s to the low 120s, without any discernible change in action. Warner wasn't spotting them, and tried to take a start down the track this time for the chip. Malinga's offcutter came in slow motion, and Warner was through the shot when it pinged the bat. Too late to check the shot. Warner popped it up straight to Maharoof at mid-on.

Aussies 21/1 in the 5th over.
