After a good session of fight, normal service is resumed and India need 22 more to make England bat again with 2 wickets remaining.
They've lost 5-7 from 51 balls.

well done england.
the current english team is looking good.
even more so since the big poof KP found form.
England's seventh innings win in their last 13 test matches against India, Sri Lanka and australia.
And some people still try to slip in snide comments that they aren't good enough......
Just about to announce Man of the Series, I'd go for Stuart Broad, 25 wickets and a batting average of 60.
The Midget reckons that too, because he's hunky.Originally Posted by Bobcock

Pak (In Dubai) 3 tests in Jan/Feb (Dates and venues TBC) - Will try and go to at least one test.
SL in March/April - 2 tests. 26th - 30th March (Galle) and 3rd - 7th April (Colombo)
I'll be going to both in Galle and Colombo again. There's 7 of us going so far from Thailand so if anyone fancies coming along then feel free to PM me and make up the numbers as it was amazing last time even though the cricket wasn't too hot...
Will be booking flights etc around Christmas.
We went to 2 tests there last time in Colombo and Galle and it was an absolute blast.
If you ever want to see a test abroad then SL is the place to go! It's great weather, cheap as chips, no worries over tickets and some of them Sri Lankan women are electrifying.
Flights are cheap from BKK as well.
Galle is stunningly beautiful and Colombo isn't too bas as far as Capitals go.
India in November/Dec (TBC) 4 tests - will go if there's a test in any of Bangalore, Bombay, Calcutta, Madras or Dehli and combine the trip with some train rides, shagging and cricket.
Dates and info here
Theres also loads of ODIs and T20s going on too but not my cup of Earl Grey.
They can lose the number one slot before they play again.....
I think SA have to win every game though don't they?
Is this also the earliest end to a Test series in England?
It's only the 22nd of Aug so there's almost a month of the season left!!
this thread is pathetic.
stinky poms everywhere!![]()
Yes where's that ball bag Poo & Pee who seems to think Englands bowling attack are average.Originally Posted by Bobcock

i blame pup.
very lame innings.
he should have learned more from the like of gilchrist, hayden, symonds, langer, etc. etc. , when he was still the runt of the litter.
sometimes you just have to take the lead, and turn it on. australia just cant seem to do that anymore...
If only we had a Mitchell Johnson.
The Poms going to the top of the ratings is a bit of a mismona.
True you can only beat what turns up but in Sri Lanka and India both sets of players just didnt want to be there. Bigger fish to fry.
You could have picked an alehouse team that would have walloped those two.
They even had Tendulker out yesterday but let him stay in by not appealing, because they knew it would have all been over in 4 days again.
Who wants to watch lob sided contests like that when only one team wants to compete.
Looks like the IPL et al is going to do for 5 day "test" cricket![]()
Test Cricket is officially dead anyway.
Actually LB is spot on.....
It's not that England are good, it's just the other teams are either not interested (India, SL) or shit (Bangladesh, Australia). They are just the best of a bad bunch and haven't improved or deserved the Number one slot.
How about we agree that the rankings should start with number 2? like in boxing, the crown is vacant at this time because nobody deserves it.
You can't argue with that!
The other test nations should be interested - obviously the cash of arcade cricket lures these nations more. It's true ODI and 20/20 has created a bigger interest but to be able to compete for 5 days over 5 tests is the ultimate. if this IPL has ruined this I wouldn't be suprised.
Fok me how long was Cook in for at Edgbaston? How many deliveries? Thats true skill; not to be bowled out for 2 days. Test cricket is as it says on the tin, TEST cricket. shame the big money lure in other nations could ruin the true element with the arcade game and advertising
Test cricket will always be King simply because it it the pure game.
T20, especially the IPL is merely a sideshow and talks are underway to reduce the tournament given the obvious detriment on the longer form of the game in India.
T20 needs test cricket more than the other way round. people want to see the best cricketers in the world in the IPL and they are all the names from the Test World and always will be.
In India, steps are being taken to draw crowds back to the 4 day game in the Sub Continent such as having Ranji and Duleep Trophy games live on free to air TV and free admittance (the revenue coming from advertising).
BTW
For those of you in Thailand who have a local cable feed installed into your home, the Indian "National" channel which is on most, usually show all of India's limited over games live so the T20 and the 5 ODIs coming up in the next few weeks will (hopefully) all be on that channel so no need for crappy streams.
The Commentary is often in English but they do break into Hindi at times but just bung on TMS to counter that.
The International Cricket Council's Test team of the year:
Cook, Amla, Trott, Tendulkar, Sangakkara (capt, wk), AB de Villiers, Kallis, Broad, Swann, Steyn and Anderson. 12th man: Zaheer Khan.
Not one Australian![]()
