Errrm..maybe because it was in Australia...???

And he's supposed to be smart for an Aussie...
i was talking about comparisons of engalnd and australia ashes crowd attendencies. australians attend ashes test matches much much more than poms do. even though the population is around 1/5 of englands. fact!

The simple fact is that most Aussie 'fans' abandoned their team during the last thrashing by England in Australia.

Well without that swing it don't mean a thing for poor Praveen Kumar.

Sreesanth isn't test match quality. He's too temperamental and Ishant looks like he wants to be elsewhere at the moment.

I'd surprised they haven't played RP Singh who bowled well in English conditions on the last tour.

The real snag for India is that their test players and in particular the younger generation, all earn huge money for 6 weeks work in the IPL.

Why bust your bollocks for a 2 month tour of England playing gruelling 5 day test matches when you have all that cash in the bank and all them Bollywood starlets back in Mumbai with their legs akimbo and their kippers waiting to be filled?

Test match delayed until 11:30BST due to rain.

    Wally:
my point is, he usually just turns up to games in a hat and sunglasses, and the paparazzi are lucky to even get a shot of him. but now that england are on the verge of taking over the #1 ranking, he has joined the commentary box!!
Er, he was invited. I believe he's spoken to Jonners before as well.

What is this reverse snobbery we are seeing?

Contrary to your witless observations, I don't know any England fan that sneers at being number one, far from it. The habitual England batting collapse became as quintessentially English as cucumber sandwiches and beefeaters.

I think every English fan can be proud of the efforts of their fellow Zimbabwean/South African er Englishmen in achieving such a feat (assuming they do).

RP was called in to replace Khan. He is fit again but they may well hold him back for the ODIs.

Cracking partnership this is. No real need for silly buggers either. Nice and easy does it...

    Corrected.

Test Match Special had a yearly magazine at the start of each season from about 1970 onwards through to the early 80's.

Jagger was a regular contributor both in the magazine and in the box at that time.

He has travelled all over the world watching cricket.....

You sound like you are suffering from Misguided Bitterness Syndrome.... understandable at such traumatic times.....

Absolute balderdash! Its just that with the fine beach weather we have, so many things to do other than watch such a silly sausage sort of game. Dont know why we bothered to introduce it into the school curriculum, really.

Wouldn't you know it, the lights won't come on so the players have to leave the field even though the England batsmen are seeing it like a beach ball.

Can't blame the Indians for using the rules in a desperate attempt to avoid defeat.

And he gets a 4 of his 5th ball.

England strolling away with it. I wonder if they'll bat through the day?
