Donkey signs a donkey, wotta surprise.De Ligt removed at half-time after Netherlands gaffe
Netherlands boss Ronald Koeman says he removed Matthijs De Ligt at half-time during Tuesday's 2-2 draw with Germany to protect the Manchester United defender.
De Ligt played poorly against Bosnia and Herzegovina on Saturday using an expletive to describe his performance in the Nations League.
The Netherlands defender then inexplicably handed Germany a route back in Tuesday's game with a misplaced pass when they were 1-0 up.
Germany then went in at ahead at the break and De Ligt was removed by Koeman.
"Of course I would rather have kept Matthijs de Ligt on the pitch," Koeman said.
"It just looks like he is now in a period where all his mistakes are being punished.
"I gave him a new chance today, but eventually protected him by taking him off."

The 17th most prolific player in Serie A last season, Zirkshite, didn't even get a game, of course.

Has the Argie been carted off to Dortmund yet?
Erik ten Hag’s position at Manchester United has endured two weeks of scrutiny following Manchester United’s dismal 3-0 defeat to Liverpool.
The Dutchman has got off to shaky starts in each of his three seasons at United, with his side left on just three points from as many games this time around. A much better showing against Southampton is expected.
There seems to be a growing disconnect between a proportion of the fanbase and the manager, with little sign so far that last campaign’s problems have been resolved. A number of former Premier League players are unsure how long he will remain in situ if there is not an uptick in form.
Louis Saha believes a defeat to Southampton will make Ten Hag’s position at United “untenable”. He has criticised the manager for being too one-dimensional and being unable to fix the on-pitch problems that are so evident.
“There were no signs during the game [vs Liverpool] that things were going to be fixed,” he said as per The Mirror. “On Saturday, if Southampton are able to dominate against Manchester United in the same way that Liverpool dominated last week, then the situation would be untenable for Ten Hag.”

He has been in the squad since 2021, yet hasn't scored a goal for a year and is currently warming the bench for Ireland and Brighton, you complete cretin.
Meanwhile, Hojlund, the Best Young Striker in Europe is scoring 16 in his first season despite being injured for half of it, becoming the youngest ever player to score in 6 consecutive Premier League games, WINNING TROPHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSS and scoring 5 in the Champions League.
I'm afraid I might have to downgrade hapless Evan from Poundshop to Pennyshop.
