I was going to make a joke about the Kippax Street stand always smelling of piss, when I came across this article. A lad I was friends with in Openshaw, his family were staunch Man City supporters. Although young, I went to United's home games without fail, and if reasonably local, away games, there too. I did go to Maine Road with him a couple of times, and I do remember seeing Bert Trautmann (ex German POW, became Man City's goalkeeper, notable for breaking his neck in a FA Cup Final and still playing on).
