Richard Wee, a supporter of 30 years, travelled over for Wednesday's game against Crystal Palace but, when damage to nearby buildings caused the match at Goodison Park to be called off, club officials stepped in.
After being tracked down on social media, Wee met manager Martinez and defender Baines.
Wee will return to the club on Thursday, when he will be given a stadium tour by former Everton striker Graeme Sharp and meet national and local media.
"I wish to thank Everton for the great hospitality," tweeted Wee. "Really appreciate it, also much obliged to the many Evertonians sending warm messages.
Apparently they are looking after him today as well.

    Big up.
    Heart warming.

Nice to see the good side of social media for a change.

Does Alex Ferguson care about his reputation in football or not. If Ferguson was key to Moyes appointment and Moyes fails, then Ferguson has his reputation tarnished by that failure.
    True or not?

    Not.

Ferguson looks either the same or better in hindsight.

In fact there is a conspiracy theory, which i don't subscribe to but can't rule out, that Ferguson is enjoying how much he's missed.

What, do you think they'll maybe rename the Sir Alex Ferguson Stand if things don't get better under Moyes?

The only possible way to slightly dent the reputation of a predecessor is to be better than him, as Martinez at Everton may prove to be.

    Your argument is just daft.

You should stick to your hilarious quote doctoring gags.

Ferguson effectively insists that Moyes is the man to replace him.

    Moyes fails.

Ferguson comes out of this looking better according to you? He comes out of it looking a better manager than Moyes, but has egg on his face for pushing the appointment of Moyes as his replacement.

You are deflecting and obfuscating, because any one who claims to be as smart as you would see that Moyes failure would make Ferguson look bad.

But Ferguson is never wrong. If Moyes gets sacked, Fergie will claim the club didn't give him enough time or some other excuse.

How very true. I had not considered that. Too quick to forget what a slippery bastard he could be.

Changing the subject and introducing irrelevancies does not remove the flaw in your argument.
Moyes failure would equate to embarrassment for Ferguson and tarnish his reputation.
The fact that you disagree on that issue is making you look foolish.

    What's 'trendy' about Felix Magath?

He has to be one of the least 'trendy' managers in the game.

In fact, isn't that word pretty much only used by Austin Powers these days?

You believe that if Moyes fails, no blame will be attached to Ferguson because he's is perfect just like you, and therefore never wrong even when he is wrong.
Hope that works out for you.

trendy in that, he's a bleedin foreigner. with no experience in the premier league. but he's a foreigner who has managed a top european club - therefore "trendy".

    He's an old school disciplinarian.

One of the least 'trendy' managers imaginable.

He has players throwing medicine balls at each other!

I think the day is long gone when anyone from the continent was automatically considered 'trendy', whatever their cv.

I was still collecting football stickers when that was last true.

Oh sorry, Cyrille's right. That's crap, there is nothing "trendy" about that dinosaur. Smacks of desperation.
