"The saga of a crime family in 1492 Italy"
The first episode was a double ep so it got a bit long but I've since watched episodes 3 & 4 and its shaping into a good show.

National Geographic Japan Disaster caught on camera
45 minutes of video, much of which I haven't seen, taken by people caught in the earthquake and subsequent tsunami.
Not much commentary, it's quite harrowing stuff, and amazing to watch.
Game of Thrones
Game of Thrones (TV Series 2011) - IMDb
I am still enjoying Shawn ("The Shield") Ryan's first foray into Network TV, The Chicago Code.
Good mix of police story and corrupt city politics, not as gritty as The Shield, but perhaps a bit more thoughtful. If you haven't seen it, it's worth a try, it's up to Episode 11 of the first season of 13 as of today.
^^ Game Of Thrones has been excellent so far. Just finished DLing episode 4 (eztv.it). I read the trilogy, ('Song of Fire and Ice'), which the series is based on, 'Game of Thrones' being the name of the first novel. Personal favourite of the fantasay novel genre so thrilled to see them put it into s film series and have done a good job so far. I hope they don't butcher it like with 'Legend of the Seeker'.
Just downloaded The Ballad of Cable Hogue by Sam Peckinpah from BT Junkie.

Interesting coz when reading these novels, I was thinking how good a TV drama series it would make.
You take other Fantasy Genre books and convert them; not easy. For example, 'The Wheel Of Time' epic series would be almost impossible to make a film series of. As already stated, they failed miserably with 'Legend of The Seeker' (though I have not read the novels, the series sucks arse and the aficionado's all agree the film series hacked it to pieces).
They did nail 'Lord Of The Rings' though, one of the best things to come out of the film industry in the last decade.
Poms in Paradise.
A series detailing the poms that have left their previous loves in dreary land to emigrate to OZ.
Showing just how their standard of life has improved dramatically since they discovered sun, lovely scenery, outdoor life and pleasant neighbors.
I really shouldn't, as you will be forever consumed with envy at yr countrymen that have seen the light.

No sooner do I plug The Chicago Code than Fox announce it's being cut. It's that c*nt Murdoch, I know he doesn't like me for constantly ripping the piss.

The bad news finally came. FOX has given the axe to three five shows (see end of article), one of which came as a bit of a surprise. The network, who has been busy green-lighting new pilots to series, has decided to cancel new comedy Breaking In, new crime drama The Chicago Code, and sophomore action-er Human Target. All were on the bubble, but the news of Breaking In was a bit of a surprise. The ratings were actually quite good for the comedy, which benefited from an American Idol lead in, but reviews have the series itself were mixed. Some loved it, some hated it. Best guess is that FOX thought that the show was only being watched because of the notorious ratings that American Idol draws in each week.
Unfortunately, The Chicago Code falls. This was one show I was personally pushing for but it doesn’t come surprising at all given the low ratings, despite tough competition on a Monday. Human Target was expected to be given the boot as the show never really took off much even in its first season.
FOX is expected to officially announce the cancellations of all three shows tomorrow morning. In more positive news, FOX has ordered the Bones spinoff ‘The Finder‘ to series as well as the new comedy ‘The New Girl‘ (starring Bones co-star Emily Deschanel’s sister Zooey). For JJ Abrams fans, ‘Alcatraz‘ has been given the go after numerous reports that the show was in trouble.
With that, only Lie to Me and Traffic Light are awaiting their futures – we can only expect both will be cancelled as well. Earlier today FOX renewed House for an eighth season as well as confirming extensions for both Family Guy and The Cleveland Show. Sound off fans – what shows did you want saved?
UPDATE 11:45PM EST - FOX has cancelled Traffic Light
UPDATE 12oAM EST - FOX has cancelled Lie to MeThe networks are cleaning house in preparation for next week's Upfronts presentations of new shows, cancelling existing shows faster than anyone can keep up.
The latest shows to get shut down? NBC has axed freshman Thursday night comedies 'Outsourced' and 'Perfect Couples,' as well as drama 'Chase' and reality series 'School Pride' and 'America's Next Great Restaurant.'
While rapid-fire press releases and rumor confirmations have been the norm for getting the news out the past few days, 'Outsourced' star Rizwan Manji actually took to Twitter before news of their cancellation broke:
[at]Riz_Manji: "Before it hits the trades-Outsourced isnt coming back.Sad to see it go-hopeful that this opportunity was a step towards others! Thanx all!"
'Outsourced' was one of those shows that struggled from the start, failing to nab any real critical love and battling shaky numbers throughout its first season run. 'Perfect Couples' got a little more praise when it premiered midseason -- but not much.
'Chase,' which premiered last fall, was pulled from the schedule due to failing ratings, so the writing was on the wall, but sometimes middling shows get a second chance if the studios and networks think retooling and relaunching might help. (See: 'Law & Order: LA,' also pulled, then retooled, yet still got cancelled today as well.)
'School Pride' was a reality show with a real message -- which unfortunately, often means a tiny audience, something that similar shows like 'Jamie Oliver's Food Revolution' have also proven this season. (ABC recently pulled the second season of that Emmy-winning show from the air; its fate is still unknown.)
But 'School Pride' also suffered a great loss this year: The death of Denise Cramsey, who co-executive produced the show with Cheryl Hines.
As for 'America's Next Great Restaurant,' as much as I loved it and I know several critics did as well, it never found its audience. The reality competition ended its first season a couple of weeks ago, but the finale was pre-empted on the West coast by President Obama's address about Osama bin Laden, and never replayed. In the midst of NBC's flurry of pilot pickups (hooray, Chelsea Handler sitcom!) and series renewals (yay, 'Chuck'!), the network let the ax fall on two of its bubble shows.
Freshmen series 'The Event' and 'Law & Order: Los Angeles' are both canceled.
According to Entertainment Weekly, NBC will not pick up 'The Event,' its alien drama, for a second season. The show premiered strong, but its viewership slipped drastically throughout the season and just couldn't gain any momentum after its winter hiatus. However, it might not be completely dead: Deadline is reporting that the producers are shopping the show to other outlets, including Netflix.
Deadline is also reporting that 'Law & Order Los Angeles' has also gotten the hook, even after a drastic overhaul that saw Skeet Ulrich get killed off, Alfred Molina change professions, Corey Stoll shave his mustache and Alana De La Garza join the cast.
'The Event' and 'LOLA''s departures make room a half dozen new shows in addition to 'Chuck''s fifth season pickup and the renewals of both 'Parenthood' and 'Harry's Law.' NBC's greenlighted pilots include 'Are You There, Vodka? It's Me, Chelsea,' 'Bent,' and 'BFF' along with previously announced pickups 'Smash,' 'Awake,' 'Grimm,' 'The Playboy Club,' 'Up All Night,' 'Prime Suspect' and 'Whitney.'
Bit more news....
NBC hands out some renewals, orders some new series, passes on others.
NBC Renews 'Parenthood,' 'Harry's Law;' Passes on 'Wonder Woman'
The renewals, first: Parenthood and Harry's Law
New Series:
'Awake,' an 'Inception'-style thriller from Kyle Killen
'The Playboy Club,' a period drama set in a Playboy club in 1960s Chicago
'Grimm,' a police drama, is set in a world where fairy tales exist.
more on some new series pickups: NBC Pilots: 'Prime Suspect,' 'Smash,' Christina Applegate Comedy and More Picked Up for Fall
Passed up:
Don Johnson's return to network TV, 'Mann's World,' has been passed on by NBC. Deadline reports it may be shopped to a cable channel.
'Battlestar Galactica' mastermind Ron Moore's '17th Precinct' did not make the cut. NBC also passed on 'Reconstruction' and 'Metro.'
The 'Wonder Woman' reboot starring Adrianne Palicki will also not be making it to series.
I'm not a big fan myself, but Ashton Kutcher has signed up to replace Charlie Sheen in "Two and a half men", which no doubt will have Sheen running for the coke and ketamine.
