Just finished DLing and about to watch Carl Sagan's Cosmos.

Cosmos: A Personal Voyage - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

It covered a wide range of scientific subjects including the origin of life and a perspective of our place in the universe.

The series was first broadcast by the Public Broadcasting Service in 1980, and was the most widely watched series in the history of American public television until The Civil War (1990).

I can't remember watching it before, but would be surprised if I haven't. But then again, it is older than me, so maybe not. Looks bloody interesting anyway.

I remember that series from a kid. One of the first main stream enlightenment's of the complexity of the universe, a hundred billion billion galaxies and all that, no doubt dated but still relevant... man.

Not a recommendation but happened to download a couple on the off chance it might be good.....

Every single person on the show is a fat bastard. The US stereotype is not wrong. I kept expecting the dramatic moment of an episode would be when one of them suffered a heart attack.

I wont be downloading any more.

Affectionate but honest portrait of Thin Lizzy, arguably the best hard rock band to
come out of Ireland.
Starting with the remix of the classic album Jailbreak by Scott Gorham and Brian
Downie, the film takes us through the rollercoaster ride that is the story of Thin
Lizzy. From early footage of singer Phil Lynott in Ireland in his pre-Lizzy bands
the Black Eagles and Orphanage, it follows his progress as he, guitarist Eric Bell
and drummer Brian Downie form the basic three-piece that was to become Thin Lizzy -
a name taken from the Beano.
Using original interviews with Bell, Downie, the man who signed them and their
first manager, it traces the early years leading to the recruitment of guitarists
Brian 'Robbo' Robertson and Scott Gorham - the classic line-up. The film uses a
number of stills, some seen on TV for the first time, archive from contemporary TV
shows and a range of tracks both well known and not so famous.
There are hilarious self-deprecating anecdotes, from the stories behind the making
of the Boys are Back in Town to the hiring of Midge Ure. We hear about the
'revolving door' as guitarist after guitarist was fired and hired, and the
recording of Bad Reputation and Live and Dangerous - where producer Tony Visconti
pulls no punches in talking about how he recorded the latter - putting the
controversy to bed for the final time. Except that Downie and Robertson still
disagree with him.
Finally we hear how drugs and alcohol impacted on the band and how the music
suffered, how one member later substituted golf for heroin, and how addiction and
the related lifestyle led to the death of Phil Lynott.
Contributors include Brian Downie, Scott Gorham, Eric Bell, Brian Robertson, Midge
Ure, Bob Geldof, Tony Visconti, Joe Elliot (Def Leppard) and many others.

"Artistic" differences no doubt. Still did Phil a big favour with Parisienne Walkways though. Lynott must have been difficult to get on with.

The Yank version of Skins has also recently been aired, same deal, blatant copying of the original. Makes one wonder why they bother, why not just air the original?

I downloaded The Kenny Everett Television Show series 1 off UK Nova.
'A Dino De Horrendous production in association with the BBC' not as whacked out on chemicals as the Thames TV series but it's still totally mental.
It's great quality video ripped from a rerun on one of the comedy channels.
There's 5 series available on UK Nova on page 4 of the comedy listings, I'm just downloading 2 and 3 now.

Pilger is obviously revered amongst journalists and this recent documentary seems to be just as much aimed at pricking their concience as it at informing the general public about the deceptive role of news media and it's consequences. It's unfortunate that probably only the already converted will take the time to view this collection of truths and confessions.

Can't remember if I've already mentioned it but Spartacus is back on. They've made a prequel to the first season due to the fact that the main character Spartacus (Andy Whitfield) has been sick for many months with Cancer.

Anyway its called Gods of the Arena and by Jupiters cock its just as good as the last installment.

It's basically wife friendly porn that your aloud to watch because its a TV series. I think the first episode went something like this:

You're right, it is a double edged sword. So far there has only been one 'almost' guy on guy scene. Luckily it got interrupted before it got too serious.
