Is it just me that finds hor mok a bit hit and miss though?

Known as amok in Khmer and it has ranged from the sublime to the ridiculous (and not in a good way) on on the numerous times I've had it there.

The Thai version not such a wide range, mind, but it's just one of those dishes that can be a bit meh IMO.

Honestly couldn't tell ya Hal, I never eat it. My wife loves it but I have heard her say in the past when she has them at various restaurants it wasn't very good. Today she cleaned it out so I assume it was good.

I always make sure to order it in Lao but usually at quality restaurants I love it . Try the Lao version..maybe same same. But different

It's like chalk and cheese compared to the stumpsters gastronomical blow out but the ole beef n black been got the job done.
