Ferreting! It's like I've just walked into a sketch from Little Britain.
The answer to where I found the Butcombe can be found in answer to my quiz question about the castle: Corfe Castle in Dorset.
Btw, did you know that Dil keeps chutney ferrets?![]()

Funny Snubs. This is the same lot that think that smothering their food in gravy to make a slop or adding peasant beans to meal a makes it top flight. They would also probably enjoy Home Buffet food and rate it a 10.
Lets also keep in mind that they think fruit ciders are a great beverage. Bunch of wankers as I see it
The classic Italian pizza - simplicity its fundamental element- was not improved when you fat fuckers decided to stuff the crusts with shit American cheese and top it with doughnuts, waffles and whatever unhealthy shite you could find in the fridge.
In fact, speaking from experience (school dinners) the only way it can ever be built upon is with a side of baked beans and proper English chips.![]()
It is funny tuning in to see Gen Cletus Fukknuckle lecturing on his latest expert subject![]()
Gen Cletus Fuckknuckle
Some good uns this weekend, nammers.
And JP, a pizza is not, has never been and never will be a pie.
This is a pie:

Dan Lepard's perfect pizza base and tomato sauce recipes | Baking | The Guardian
What is on Snubby's plate is an American abomination.

I forgot (Retd) after Fukknuckle and when I retire I hope to catch the good Gen on his speaking tour in the US covering everything that Google has missed.
^ A bit stingy on the salmon?
A couple of recent highlights at Chez Mendip...
Monday was back to school, so on Sunday I made the daughter her favourite...
Bangers and beans, Beano style.
And last night, Gala Pie!

^^ Never knew that was called gala pie. I had a coworker years ago who would bring that for any kind of potluck we would have. The rest of us called it eye of the tiger.
Here's one for you, snubby.

I think I will give it a pass. Mendys abominations are enough for my eyes.![]()
^ How rude!
I also enjoyed some high quality British cuisine last night: chippy tea!
Cheese and onion pie and chips with two slices of buttered Warbies (with the label still on a two year old tray): great!
Cheese and onion pie, chips and curry sauce with two slices of buttered Warbies: the best!
I never cease to be amazed at the subtle use of spices, sauces and deep fried goodness of this wonderful cuisine.

^ Here ya go PAG, I'll do the honours for you...
I caught this beautiful organic pla nin, straight from the pond a few days ago. It weighed 2kg, or 2.2 lb in real money.
This was the first fish big enough to fillet that I've caught for quite some while.
Two nice fillets for fish an' chips!
Lovely.
Sadly the two fillets only weighed around 6 oz (3 oz each), around 1/5 of the original fish.
But fear not... the rest of the fish went into a tom yam soup... and after that, the head and carcass finally went to the chickens.
Anyway, I made up some beer batter...
Warmed the peas up in the microwave...
And things started to come together. This fish an' chips is a messy meal to prepare.
If I hadn't have burnt the fish and the mushy pea fritters it would have been just about perfect.
Maybe the oil was too hot?
