I'm not a great fan, but the dipping sauces are fantastic.

I'll take 'em or leave 'em. Fried all day long when it comes to spring rolls.

Affectionately referred to as egg rolls.
    One doesn't fry spring rolls.

No, clearly not. As never ever seen on millions of menus across the world.

Spring rolls are a large variety of filled, rolled appetizers or dim sum found in East Asian, South Asian, and Southeast Asian cuisine. The name is a literal translation of the Chinese chūn juǎn (春卷 'spring roll'). The kind of wrapper, fillings, and cooking technique used, as well as the name, vary considerably within this large area, depending on the region's culture.

It is believed that spring rolls originated from China. They were a seasonal food consumed during the spring, and started as a pancake filled with the new season's spring vegetables, a welcome change from the preserved foods of the long winter months.[1] In Chinese cuisine, spring rolls are savoury rolls with cabbage and other vegetable fillings inside a thinly wrapped cylindrical pastry. They are usually eaten during the Spring Festival in mainland China, hence the name. Meat varieties, particularly pork, are also popular. Fried spring rolls are generally small and crisp. They can be sweet or savory; the latter are typically prepared with vegetables. They are fully wrapped before being pan-fried or deep-fried.

    You utter bellend.

Managed to find that maple syrup yet?

Jeff's referring to the Vietnamese variety Hal. A bit like comparing your Manc sausage roll covered in gravy to a normal person's sausage roll

Jeff's tallking shite as usual. Vietnamese spring rolls are available both fried (cha gio) and unfried (goi cuon).

They're referred to as a spring roll in the majority of the western world whereas any distinction between egg roll and spring roll is generally a US one.

She is from the low lands of Lao. However her papa had/has a place in VTE. It's very nice as it sits along the river and by the luck of god didn't flood as it had in the south. Her mama's farm did get swamped a few months ago though. Being low landers I should have listened to them years ago when they said every blue moon it floods. They said raise the land two met and it be good. I said build it as is and deal with it.

Well they are repainting it now. But it still stands and has not fallen in the swamp!

Chip butty would be between 2 slices of bread for me. Muffin where I'm from, but I have occasionally seen barm and bap used in the leafy suburbs of the south of the city.

Yea, I know now. When we build the next place it will have a hell of a view. I saw several temples along the river and they still stand. Not that I want to live in a temple but I do see they stand the test of time. I will have to take some dirt from the creek to raise the overall level and then add a few feet of concrete to the base. I figure if I'm seven feet up the rest of the place may be under but our "Tesla" will be high and dry.

Black Burger is Mongolia's answer to McDonald's (not here) and Burger King (here and as bland as ever!), unlike the other two the burger is cooked to order, so a slightly longer wait is required. The fries were allegedly homemade, but they came from a bag, so that's not really true. Did have a nice pint of pilsner alongside, and it came out cheaper than burger king, even with the beer.
