The top one looks like Yayoi.

I made that mistake once too.

Though, at least they're better than MK and all those other weirdo East-Asian Supermarket Restaurants that are based on buying some small little mini-plates of veggie leaves, boiling them in the middle of your table, and paying 4000 baht for the pleasure.

Whoever came up with that rort - charge 400 baht for 10 baht of veggies from the supermarket next door, make the customers boil them themselves, at the table, while sitting opposite a Tesco-Lotat, and have queues outside the foking door, is a marketing genius.

Yes, I think the top one was in Yayoi. Some of their other stuff is OK (like the eel), but the burger was a disappointment.

And I totally agree about the cooking yourself tasteless food in a restaurant and paying for the privilege. I never do it and rarely eat it even if someone else is paying. I'd rather eat a cheese sandwich at home.

I couldn't taste much of the burger as the gravy overpowered it. Mediocre. 4 out of 10.

The next 'burger' was not actually called a burger but something like a Cumberland sausage with a fried egg and Gouda cheese - courtesy of Starbucks.

Cumberland sausage my ass. It was a sausage meat burger - with a fried egg and some cheese. Still, it filled a hole. Fair. 6 out of 10. The chocolate espresso brownie was very nice and the latte not bad either.

Looks good. Did you pick that foker up with your fingers and eat it like a caveman?

    I would have.

Could not get a rack of ribs, had to buy them separate. But it came out well. Ribs, beans, potato salad, and garlic bread.

    Fixings for the beans,

    Potato salad before,

Ribs with the rub on them,

    Plated up,

You guys are better cooks than my wife.

But my wife does excel at making 'Khow Phat Cauliflower' and 'Beans on Toast Soup'.

I've cooked this Spanish braised pork a few times and it's well worth the money you'll be spending on decent chorizo. Plus you can have a bit yourself while you're cooking.

My favourite dish: José Pizarro?s braised Ibérico pork - Telegraph

Unfortunately, any photos are on my old phone, but it doesn't turn out as oliy as it looks in that pic. It's a proper treat.
