The wheels have come off again today as the better half is doing one of her 14 hour stints , so here we go ,, although I know where that Dillinger hails from these are revered as a right royal treat ,, ,,, however I never expected to see faggots in my home
To be fair they were bloody delicious and at £1.50p a pack of 4 the way the UK is going I reckon they could soon be a family favourite ,, and a ticking time bomb for the NHS with its already oversize customers
Now while I was in the CO _ OP this afternoon they were knocking out some flaky pastry mince pies @ 50p for 4 so warmed up in the oven + a drop of cream + baked banana ,,,mmmmm get in !

^ mince pies? as in mince meat?
Can't imagine that going with cream and banana.
No KJ ,, don't know if you have those in Dutch Land but its a xmas thing here ,, well its more a year round thing now TBH like most things here.
No its a mixture of fruit , sultanas. raisins, fruit peel etc ,, quite nice but not good for the old waist line
They used to contain meat Koojo, not anymore though, they dont make them like they usedta
I didn't know they used to put innit.
Tonight a nice home-made garlic chicken kiev
![]()
Mmmmm. Thinking of doing one of those or a Cordon Bleu soon enough.
Got me hungry that pic.![]()
I'll look forward to the pics then CM
How do you make your kievs? I melt some butter (about a 1/3rd of a stick), mix in lots of crushed garlic and parsley. Make that into 2 'logs' and then freeze it. I then cut a slit into the breast from the fat end, work my knife down inside the breast trying not to split the sides and make a pocket. Stuff the frozen butter log inside, seal with toothpicks then season, roll in flour, egg and finally breadcrumbs.
I then put them in the pan with about 1cm of oil just to brown them, then into the oven at 180 for 30 mins.
Nice one satnav ,, do you also coat your chicken mate ?
Looks tasty![]()
The wife has gone to work in Samui for a week so I cooked a big batch of bolognaise up to save me cooking everyday.

That's on the menu for me tonight FP. Looks tasty, did you use canned mushrooms?
I used 1 tin of canned mushrooms and a hand full of shiitake mushrooms. Normally I'd just use the fresh ones but they didn't have enough in Tops so I had to add a tin of the canned.Originally Posted by Satonic
For some reason I always forget to add mushrooms and I would have again tonight if I hadn't have seen that cheeky fella hanging on in your dinnerOff to Villa soon!
Nice one Princey ,, do you boil your mince up before hand to remove the fat ?
I don't like oily Itai gear![]()
No I've not tried that. I just season it with salt & pepper and Worcestershire sauce and then brown it off.Originally Posted by nigelandjan
Well its a matter of taste mate ,, but I always like to pre cook the mince to take out the fat ,, even the leanest mince we buy has unwanted fat in it . Give it a go mabe you like it ,, also tenderises the meat a bit![]()
Another dinner on me lonesome tonight ,, but I thought I would stick this one up ,, I know its not a lot of use to you lads in Thailand but might be of some use to the Uk based lads.
This is one of Tesco's chilled ready meals ,, liver + bacon and the only reason I have put it up is because I can highly recommend it , it was very tasty despite having no salt in it ,, I think it only cost me £1.50p , its filled me up

Liver and bacon is one of those meals which are very tasty, but not to be eaten regularly I find.
Oven chips and frozen peas lets your culinary skills down.
My son was over and we watched "Jamie Oliver 15 minute meals" on the TV tonight. He still has it, good food, easy to cook recipes and a chirpy essex attitude. He must be worth £millions now..
A tray full of GOLD is not worth a moment in time.
