I usually have home-made quiche with boiled, buttered potatoes and peas. Tonight I found some left-over mashed potato and cheese sauce in the fridge, so we had a change.

Delicious. Didn't even need the Ketchup, to be honest.

As they say... only real men eat quiche.

My offering....hamburger steak and egg with a side of sliced tomatoes (they're invisible) with a chunk of homemade cornbread.

First baste before realising it wouldn't be ready before the footy kicks off so popped out and bought a box of Stella and came back to the house smelling glorious.

^ a rashford Hatrick (© Chitty) triple capt is going to make my hole weak
It's only 1 kilogram, including the bone
His recipe is for 2.3kg and a family of 8 Edmonds I think, so I've had to tailor it a bit
The bone actually popped out during cooking

Bone in sirloin and baked eggplant. Seriously good but I couldn’t finish it.

Couldn't finish it?

You big fanny.
Yup, snacked on too many starters and they mixed up the time of the order so we didn’t get mains until an hour in. Missus was fuming and let them know it. We got free deserts and an additional reduction on the final bill as compensation.
Im a big fan of the dinner thread but unfortunately my cooking skills are shocking, her indoors is still a bit out there so its my job to cook dinner for the kids , she seems to sort herself out with laofood . But they are fussy little coonts and hard to please. Today i finally cracked it and both of them agreed it was my best effort yet. I cooked satay beef chinese style after " Velveting the cheap cut of meat" a teqnique i stumbled across on utube on lazy afternoon.. it was a resounding success
To velvet i simply sliced the meat thin, added bicarb of soda a splash of chinese cooking wine, let it do its magic in a bowl in tge fridge for 30 minutes. The other ingrediants i just googled. Had most of it but needed a jar of satay sauce and the chinky wine plus a bit of dry sherry that was a bargain for $8.00 and the recipe called for only 2 tea spoons so im sorted if i run out of piss over easter and the bottlo is closed due to religious reason.
