^Tried that, and normal vinegar too (a bottle of each with just a few tablespoons out of them hog room in my kitchen cupboards with no further use), and vortex / non vortex methods too. In fact if there's a Youtube vid of how to cook the fucking things perfectly I've likely had it playing on my Tablet in the kitchen while trying to copy what they're doing.

If at first you don't succeed, try try try again. If after that you still don't succeed, go to a local eatery with some cvnt in the kitchen that can cook them perfectly

A confession: I gave up trying to cook eggs that way long ago. Fried, scrambled, boiled, always come out just fine. Poached, never could get them right
I use these for poached eggs. Place in a pan of simmering water (splash of vinegar included), with the water up to around 1-2 cm of the top section. When you add the cracked egg, it will transit into the bottom section to poach, and won't start breaking apart. One tip, don't have the water boiling, and remove from the heat when adding the eggs.

Have always found poached eggs simple to do.

Pot of water with a dash of vinngar set to just starting to bubble.
Crack egg into a small bowl.

Sit the center of the pot of water with a chopstick (this wraps the egg white around the yolk)
    Gently plop the egg in.
Set your stopwatch for 3 minutes.

    Lift out with a strainer.

    Some people prefer 4 minutes.

You'll know how long you like after a few times.

You can't cook 2 or 3 eggs at the same time poaching in a saucepan of hot water, so that method is of no use to me anyway

At the Farm there are plenty of saucepans, woks etc ... but only one gas ring.

They Wok everything ... or microwave it.

Oh, of course, there is a stove (no oven) with 2 or 3 rings, but in the decade I've been there, it's never been connected

Breakfast fail...at least in appearance. Tasted good. Omelet, homemade hashbrowns and toast with blueberry jam.

I was informed by the boss, after I was done, that I had used the wrong skillet for the omelet. Oh well, live and learn. Omelet tasted better than it looked, hashbrowns were great.

SKkin, that's quite an art to get your omelette to look like a hash brown I expect it tasted good though. You know what they say, all goes down the same way.

^Probably a good idea. Think I'll leave the omelettes to the wife from now on. Stick to hashbrowns bacon and fried eggs.

Omelette redemption! Had to try it again, with the proper skillet. This time with buttered bagel and blackberry jelly. Some leftover hashbrowns from yesterday's debacle.

    Look better this time?

It does but I would still prefer no browning of the egg. Don't feel bad I attempted an omelette last night myself and failed it didn't look as bad as your first attempt but would have been going in the trash can if the misses was home. She said that the browning is because the pan is just to hot when the egg is put in says no more than medium heat..

Ah...my heat was definitely above medium. Good to know for next time. Thanks to your missus for the tip.

I was just proud to get the SOB to fold over this time without breaking open.

    5Km jogging, 2Km walking.

Followed by a ribeye, eggs done in the steak pan and beans.

Went down a treat that did.

Some nice looking breakfasts on here recently.

I had this in HK a few days ago for about 155 baht, comes in two parts, all inclusive; I thought it was very good value.

I found one of those flash/expensive bistro cafe places in Macau and it was a nice environment, not cheap. A coffee and the English breakfast cost 350 baht. The buffet breakfast in the hotel was so utterly shite that I couldn't eat it - luckily, found this nice place just across the road.

I enjoyed it so much that I went back a few times; it became my standard breakfast place:
